I started a thread here (https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112761) for discussion, but I figured it was appropriate to mention it in the Marvel statues thread.

Okay, so I don't really get from that story does "new Jumping on Point" mean they're just starting with a new Number 1 or does it mean they're basically starting the universe over like DC did (hated it)?

And why the hell does Hulk have steel football pads?

i wouldnt be surprised if the whole DC studios is loling right now. not liking the redesigns though. Hulk and thor look weird.

You guys should know by now... if one of the Big 2 does something that even remotely gains market share or rakes in dough the other plays follow-the-leader shortly thereafter. This has basically been going on since the dawn of the industry. Hell, even some characters are direct rip-offs of one another.

Of course of course, I'm just wondering how much they're rebooting the Universe. I actually gave up on DC, except for the occasional TPB, after the New 52.
And to be honest I stopped reading Marvel a while ago too but there was always that chance I'd go back but with this? Meh.

Ugh. They are utilizing time travel for Jean Grey? This thing is backflipping over the shark already. I'll definitely give it a shot but with The New 52 failing quickly IMHO, this might actually get me out of comics altogether.

Not surprised, but I'm not disappointed either. I've really enjoyed the new 52, and I'm hoping this will have the same impact.

Read creator-owned comics. :lecture The best work in the industry has been happening there for years.

Even the 2 best writers for the Big 2 (Jeff Lemire & Scott Snyder, who both happen to write for DC) save their best for their creator-owned indie stuff through Top Shelf, Vertigo, etc.

Image used to be kind of a joke, but now they're actually the best of the major publishers because they have tons of good creator-owned titles and imprints and are adding new ones all the time.

Don't quit comics just because Marvel and DC are poop heads. There is great stuff out there.

(P.S. I hope people do realize all of this is proving that Alan Moore was dead-on right about the American comics industry all along. It's now coming home to roost)

:lol I am glad I don't read comics anymore. Marvel F's up their continuity one time too many and decides to hit the reset button? None for me thanks!

I hope they are rebooting the Ultimate Universe and leaving 616 alone. if not, I will let most of my subscriptions expire. Completely unnecessary after so many great stories the past several years.

Well DC's new 52 got me back into comics after a massive hiatus so will keep an eye on what Marvel do & maybe grab one or 2 titles but I won't be buying loads.

Other than the colour scheme, I think Cyclops' new outfit is interesting. Hulk looks silly.

Edit: If Cyclops is actually a "Cyclops" under the mask, then that wouldn't be so cool.

Interesting. I've gotten into the New 52 Batman and want to start picking up Spider-man as well. Amazing Spidey seems to be in a pretty cool story arc right now but I wanted to wait until a new one starts. Back tracking sucks.

When is this suppose to happen?
