Episode 2 was enjoyable. On a side note, will they be linking a comic book every episode with those qr codes?

Yep, really enjoyed this episode. OI & EH are absolutely killing it. The Layla character looks to be a nice addition as well, although how big of a role she'll play going forward is unclear. As I posted in the figure thread, I think

she's a good candidate to be an (unwilling) avatar for the Goddess Ammit in the finale. Having to defeat/vanquish Ammit without killing Layla would make for an interesting challenge for MK/Marc/Steven.

I'm not sure yet about this show. I have seen the first two episodes, but they didn't do much for me. Episode 1 was ok enough, but I felt nothing while watching episode 2. I'm not hyped for the rest of it. I think I'm going to skip them from now on and watch the whole show when it's available.

I'm not liking it much. Typical MCU fare. Quips every 2 seconds, cliche motivations and characters, and Steven is just annoying. I like Isaac a whole lot, but his Marc is "just woke up from a bender and have to act stern and keep the puke in at work" tier. I rewatched "A Most Violent Year" on a whim some days back, and the difference is stark. I'm hoping it picks up now that he's in Egypt, but so far it's just more of the same. I'm at this point where the MCU is just a source of dolls for me, nothing else. And with how cold each installment leaves me, the less dolls I buy. Whereas before I was going to be pulled into getting both MKs, between the lackluster (thus far) episodes and the subpar HT fig, I'm in for a Mr. Knight just to have as a representation of the character. And I've been waiting for a high-end MK figure for nearly 2 decades... I do think there's a good chance he'll appear in some Midnight Sons thing down the line, so we'll get another chance at a differently costumed MK there too, so there's that as well.

Ah well, it might improve. We might even get more costumes. But so far it's just... eh. Loki remains my favourite MCU show and the only one I had fun with. God, what's next, me warming up to Clown Kang? Ugh... I don't know, maybe the first two episodes were slow set-up and now that we're in Adventuring territory it'll pick up. But having read the spoilers of the first 4 episodes, with the first 2 coming true, I hope the last 2 out of 6 are a Hell of a lot more packed... Maybe we'll get a flashback with Harrow as MK, with a different suit and everything. It's just not what I expected, you know? And I suppose I've gotten tired of literally everything needing to be so filled with quips. I'm just... tired.

Dodgy CGI aside, I really liked episode 2. It feels like a transitional episode after the intriguing first episode.

I didn’t find it too quippy or funny, myself. If anything, I felt it was mostly (delightfully) uncomfortable, from the interrogations and relationship drama to the cult to the inner character bickering. I’m happy to see more supernatural horror in the MCU.

Second episode wasn't so great. It's like they took everything that was fun about the first episode and ran it into the ground.

Welcome... to Phase 4.

I get your point, but having binged "Servant" some weeks back, this doesn't come close to mild PG-13 psychological horror, let alone supernatural horror. It's all just too watered down and MCU-fied for me. It could still pick up and be an enjoyable adventure series, but so far Steven's too irritating for me, and the tone's become too tiresome.

I’m loving this so far, and I like that it stands on its own and doesn’t have to leech off of anything else in the MCU.

Hawkeye - Member Black Widow?
WandaVision - Member Vision?
Loki - Member Avengers?
Falcon - Member Steeeeeeve?

The acting is not so great so far. Steven especially.

Also, the Mandarin lines in ep2 were so badly delivered I could not understand a word nor could my Chinese wife. We had to refer to the subtitles. I know Mandarin is hard but surely Disney can afford a Mandarin speaker to coach the actors.

Mandarin dialogue I give you but to say the acting is not great makes me now not agree with your Mandarin complaint lol

I like his Steven character. I felt bad for him when he was told he would never be a tour guide and the time he realized he got the days mixed up for the steak dinner. You can see it in his face that he's a guy that's just trying to find something good in his life.
