Really solid first episode. Can’t really say much without giving things away, but the two lead performances are excellent, although with one of them I guess we haven’t seen much yet. It’s creepy and intense without being too horrific and the moments of action were brief but cleverly handled. They don’t waste much time but I guess with only half a dozen episodes you wouldn’t want to. Reasonably violent but nothing we haven’t seen before in Marvel. Hopefully they won’t/haven’t censored it.
Agree and don't wanna spoil; impressed with Oscar Isaac tho.

It was... okay, I guess. Bad CGI, just lots of set up and very by-the-numbers writing. I feel about it the way I feel about the vast majority of the MCU and recent superhero media. They're just "there". If it didn't have Isaac and Hawke, I'd care even less. I'm hoping it really picks up. I'll still get a dolly just to have an MK, but I'm not in love. Honestly, I feel the same about all these MCU D+ shows. Every episode feels empty. Loki remains the only one that I legitimately enjoyed.

IMO to early to judge. Am still bitter about TFWS and figure that show having a huge budget didn't save it; so I'll be happy with a good arc in the end for MK.

I enjoyed it. Had no expectations and I know nothing about the character. I don’t see how one could hate it already.
Yes, I enjoyed it as well. I thought Isaac was excellent. I really liked

how the viewer experienced much of the episode as Steven did. Obviously that won't be the case much going forward (if it all), but I thought it was a clever way to introduce us to Steven, Mark and (ultimately) MK.

The more I think about it the more I really like it. Yes there was a lot of setup but it is the first episode. And yet there are a ton of great character moments. The first shot tells you everything you need to know about that character. After only one episode I love Steve, he reminds me a lot of Dougie in Twin Peaks The Return, a character I hated initially but grew to really love.

For this show, to me that’s a sign of good writing and Oscar Isaac who is just terrific.

And i loved the action. It reminded me a bit of Hawkeye admittedly, but also of Memento.

Only Disney can make Isaac a pivotal character in both the SW and MCU franchises

Did anyone predict this :horror

Premise kept me interested.

But I need to say this.

Holy crap is IO an absolutely outstanding actor the dude has a ton of charisma and he really knows how to squeeze every bit of nuance out of his character.

Was that supposed to be Doom’s villa?

Just watched.

A couple of "personal taste" nits, but engaged and ready for more.

Didn't like kohnshu's characterization thus far - doesn't feel like the kohnshu in the books and sans books, what you'd otherwise expect of a god. Konshu's characterization is a huge cornerstone of the tone and purpose behind our hero. In the books he felt like a benevolent and measured, if not manipulative paternal presence - in the show he feels like an overwhelmed, exasperated, cranky, resentful uncle-turned-guardian. Feels like a Sony Venom angle. And that's too a/cute of an angle for me, personally.

Loved Isaac, wow, his reputation proceeds him. Thought i'd have to get used to an annoying bumbling main character, but instead he's very endearing bumbling main character.

Episode was very effective at setting things up and establishing an unbalanced, chaotic feeling. The pacing was a little slower, but at the end of the episode I felt like I'd taken A LOT in to process.

VERY interested to see this vaunted episode four, and how things are going to be established before that. Excited to see what they put together before they slap it silly, haha!

Glad to see it's generally getting above-average reviews from people. Definitely does feel different than established mcu fare.

While the premise is interesting and IO actor is incredible this has to be Marvel’s worst origin story ever I mean the guy
becomes MK at the end of episode 1 with no explanation given to why him pretty bad lol

Wouldn't that be part of the whole series, finding out what's been happening? I liked the first episode. It's a slow burn but a good one unlike BoBF. It got me interested to find out more. It would have been nice to have a 2 episode premiere.

So far, the first episode feels different from your typical MCU series. Although, I'm concerned it might end up all the same with no substance and no bite. Hawkeye was fun for the most part and I enjoyed it mostly for Clint and Kate's dynamics with each other. Storyline was weak though and the whole picture feels inconsequential in the end. Hopefully, Moon Knight will be more captivating.
