Same. Quite enjoyed the first episode but after this latest installment, I'm out.
They sold this as a "comedy" and so far none of it has really been funny. Most of it is just a bit cringe tbh. I hated what they did to the Hulk in the MCU and now what they've done to Abomination is just a step too far.

Yeahhh, this show just is not for me.

My wife is really enjoying it and I haven’t seen her laugh so much in awhile. It makes me smile. I’m enjoying the show immensely. I’ve said it before, but it’s pretty much the exact irreverent and self-aware tone that defined the comic runs I read. I’m here for it.

Well I’m glad I got to see she hulk twerk. Good job on putting that in Disney . Lol
That part was pretty horrible. I get what they were going for, but it did not work for me.

I think she was just interested in defending herself. In the final shot showing her reflection, it looks like she is sad as she has just begun to realize that she is never going back to her old normal life.
Yeah, that also made some sense to me on reflection. Your first instinct is to think that, in a comic show like this, the hero will make the villains pay and give the audience that satisfaction, but She-Hulk doesn't want to be a hero, and just wants to go about her business at the end of a long day. She realized they were no real threat and just picked up her things and moved on.

One other thing I noticed that I'm glad the show ultimately commented on was that Wong was totally thumbing his nose at the U.S. justice system in breaking Blonski out of prison for his own selfish purposes. He committed a serious legal offense doing that and probably should be held accountable. Having said all that, I get the strong impression this was all retconned, and that it was never the intention in Shang Chi to have Blonski broken out of prison to end up the fighting club, so they were trying to tie up loose ends while at the same time bring this character back for the Hulk connection. So, I guess they made it make as much sense as they could.

That was definitely one of the scenes that I would have preferred was left out. I feel it was unnecessary and over sexualizes the character of She-Hulk in a show that is geared toward a female audience.

Coming from some who is watching it with my 8 year old and 5 year old daughters…
Apparently twerking is both empowering and sexualized. Like I don’t know which one they want people to choose.

From a traditional feminist perspective those things are interconnected. . .I think. But it's also done for laughs here, and has awful CG to cap it off, so there's a whole lot going on there for an audience to process. One of the other things for me is that Jennifer isn't portrayed all that consistently over time, so some things don't seem like they match with her personality at first blush. She is fun loving and not over dour, but is she borderline Deadpool in that situation? If that doesn't make sense then it will distract the viewer.

At the moment I'm thinking likewise. Humour seems to be its leading attribute and most of it is going over my head :lol

But look if women and girls are enjoying it I guess that's the whole point. That's not intended as a *** at any of you blokes here who are enjoying it.

I think in Shang-Chi they showed Wong open up a portal back to this exact same room at the end of the fight? Can't remember it that well though.

OK - this wins my nomination for most surprising post of the year (I'll add "so far" - because I may outdo it myself at some point :lol )

You're in Ireland (born & bred?), have proven HERE that you have a great sense-of-humour - so WTH my friend?

Well for one thing, and I don't seem to be alone in this, I had no idea who Megan Thee Stallion is  And I dunno, just haven't been finding much of it funny.

Maybe I've finally grown tired of Marvel's kooky humour despite once being a defender of it.

And their trend of turning all previous villains (who didn't die) into jokey, reformed characters is getting too much. Especially Tim Roth's Blonsky. I mean he was a pretty serious character in that film.

Nah - I refuse to accept that you don't get it . . . you're just having a grumpy day . . . look at it this way - think positive - you could have watched that new "Rings of Flower" thingy instead . . . or maybe you DID and that explains things !?!?! :p
