His senses are superhuman, but his body isn't. He shouldn't ko'ing enemies in 1 punch, that's what I hate about this version the most, even The Batman got this right to an extent.

You have way more wiggle room for exaggeration with movements etc. on a page or in animation, look at some of the stuff that non Jedi characters do in Clone Wars or Rebels; it works because it's animated and the laws of physics aren't as strict within that medium. I just don't think it works for live action and tbh I don't really care about comics.

I just don't see myself ever enjoying this interpritation of Daredevil.
Regular humans (for example, boxers) can KO someone with one punch, so I think it's quite believable that someone with preternatural senses, speed and timing could do so as well. DD's superpowers outstrip that of Batman (i.e., he isn't just a ripped rich guy...OK, he's not rich at all lol), so IMO not an apt comparison. The DD that I loved pre-Netflix could do all of the high altitude acrobatics that Spidey could save for stick to walls, he just didn't have the super strength. So while I also loved the Netflix version, I'm still happy they are making him a high wire act again. But if you prefer the more grounded approach, that's fine with me. :duff

p.s. - I do hate the ketchup & mustard suit lol...

Yeah - our wee lass still looks great - but WTH have they done to Charlie Cox ?!? . . . that costume looks TERRIBLE, and the action has gone from the grounded realism of Netflix, to a video game character on strings :slap

S01E08 - "Ribbit and Rip It"

OK - I take it all back - I should have waited to watch in context, but I was obviously still recovering from that awful Episode 7 :)

A decent writer/script once again (thank goodness!) . . . net result . . . this was the best episode yet !!!!

The one-liners and the resulting loud laughs came "fast and furious"
:D

  • “Wait – do you pretend to be a blind man? – because that’s really problematic."
  • “It’s very daring to use ketchup & mustard as your colour scheme."
  • “She-Hulk smash!” . . . (with a wry smile) after the corridor entrance.
  • “It’s sad that you thought that would work."
Loved the sexual chemistry between Matt & Jennifer (with the added 4th wall breaking), and Jen struggling with Matt's suit
:rolf:

A perfect episode

More light-hearted fun. Love that Daredevil and She-Hulk ... errr ... smashed. :chase

Loved the Walk of Shame gag.

The suit looks okay to me, to be honest, but I like sharp graphics on superheroes and get bored of drab tacti-cool.

It's nice to see Matt have some fun and not be weighed down by soul-crushing angst and darkness.

It just feels like an overall downgrade to me, but I don't like comics so we share a different perspective.

Anyone else think it's silly that She-Hulk can say "****" on Disney, but we're not allowed to here?

K - I'll admit I laughed at that :lol . . . while at the same time accepting that some of us behave badly enough with the rules/guidance as they are - goodness knows what would happen without :horror :)

I didn't get the sense of any chemistry between them. Just seemed like two people that felt like banging cause they were bored, and will likely never see each other again.

(Speaking of casual ***/hook-ups....this is three partners that have been shown so far in this series that I'm aware of. I haven't watched all the episodes. Jen is really racking up the numbers! As far as onscreen sexual partners in the MCU, she's doing pretty well considering how little screen time she's had. "*** and the City" indeed!)

Loved the Walk of Shame gag.

When a guy does it, it's the Walk of FAME!

That's ... umm ... chemistry.

Thought it was two but who's counting. Bless her!

Because it's a forum for discussion, which involves multiple points of views. I have thoughts on the show and will share them freely. I don't feel "high and mighty" I just think this show is doing a terrible job at almost everything it's trying to do.

If you don't like what's being discussed then you can also move on :dunno. Feel free to hit this button if it bothers you so much.

I wouldn't say I haven't been playing nice, blunt maybe, but hardly rude or abusive. But aight, sure.

Aw I like when the conversation is both positive and negative. You have two ends discussing their likes and dislikes and debating on why they like it. I remember the last Jedi thread. Good times. Now if they are spamming weird nonsense like ducky then they gotta go. But I miss him to

Who was the dude in that thread that had all the vampire snoke theories? It's all a blur now lol

Well i’m torn.

Forget the actual fighting for a second.

For a west coast out of HELLS Kitchen DD it was fun I guess.

But I do question why they used the most comedic of all of the MCU shows to introduce a character known for their brooding and demons!

Going from “Andor” levels of quality that was Netflix DD to a show where comedic 4th wall breaking is the norm was really REALLY jarring to say the least!

The bad guy, his gang and his plan was super cringe so to see DD thrust into that level of cringe was rather disappointing as his official DD in costume introduction to the MCU.

Again let me reiterate it was fun I didn’t hate it but oomph lol

Now regarding his fighting, it was just fine that wasn’t the problem.

My problem was using the She-Hulk comedy show to introduce DD.
