Specially when they were going to use it in civil war, if i was him i would have run to watch it as soon as i read the script

to be fair, he seemed like he was talking out of his ass during that line too. :lol

"we'll take em' down like that sci-fi flick with the big walkers!"

Makes sense. He probably hates Rey too :yess:

He grew up with the PT...so he probably thinks SW is garbage. He's just being nice to not upset the geeks.

Even I grew up with the OT on VHS, and they weren't a big part of my childhood, so imagine a kid who was born in 2000 :lol

He probably prefers LOTR and the MCU.

I'm the same here, no one in my family is a star wars fan so I didn't grow up around it. I watched the OT out of curiosity when I was like 18 but that was only because I started to take film study classes and it seems to be one of those series you have to watch. If film was something I wasn't interested in as a career I most likely would have never watched them lol

I'm actually not shocked. I teach a Media Studies class which focuses on using movies and television shows to show students how to write formal essays using that as the base instead of actual literature. It's a support/elective on top of their normal English classes. I decided to give them a prompt to pick either Rogue One or The Force Awakens as the best modern Star Wars film and explain how it ties to the original trilogy better than the other and use evidence from the film to back up your opinions as well as develop a counter to the people who would disagree with you.

In a class of 36, only 3 kids had even seen the original trilogy. Most of them knew about it in a general sense but never sat and watched the films themselves. These are 14-15 year-olds who had a passing knowledge of the original trilogy, a brief understanding of the prequels as a relation to it (although more than a few had seen it as almost a standalone thing) and really didn't bother to watch what was the biggest franchise of at least a couple of generations.

Holland isn't THAT much older than the kids around our schools, so I'm not really shocked he follows that line.

Wow, there's hope for the future :monkey3

Do these kids like the DCEU films? If so, there is no future. :gah:

The fakeness of the whole thing angers me more, so I'm not "mad" at Holland for being honest. I just find it weird. How can you be an actor and not have seen one of the most classic trilogies in the history of cinema? You might find it rubbish or whatever, but I'd think it's required viewing. It's part of the culture.

He is odd and must have been sheltered to the extreme. I do find it really difficult to believe knowing his profession and being a young male.

someones tried it with supes:lol

Of everything in that video: it kind of just made me sad to think that Rosenbaum was wasted on 10 seasons of Smallville, killed off, brought back as some stand-in burn victim on a Darth Vader ventilator, and brought back just in time to be like "meh. See ya," as opposed to being used to full effect in something that didn't, eventually, **** the bed. It also made me think "holy ****. He actually fits REALLY well with Cavill's Supes," and then I got sad thinking of how we got manic Mark, instead.

I didn't see a ton of Smallville, but I saw enough of it to know that Rosenbaum could have been far better utilized. He would have been a far better Luthor in DC films. Billy Zane would have also been a good pick too, IMO.

he would have been an awesome Luthor in this world. Now, as for him being replaced on Smallville, that was his choice. He got fed up with the part and wanted to do something else, so the authors did the best they could to keep the doors open for a possible return and find other threats.

Rosenbaum is freakin' great! Too bad he's so underutilized in everything. :monkey2

By the way, Isaacs voiced Luthor in "Gods and Monsters"... LOL

Yeah, but what they did was kind of ****ing terrible. Crushed by the Fortress of Solitude and blown up, then brought to life as a Frankenstein's Monster made up from pieces of various failed Alex clones and brought to life by Darkseid, who was, basically, a smoke monster?:lol If that was the best they could, I shudder to think of what their worst could've been, though, something tells me it would look something like that.:lol

I must say, honestly: when it comes to actors playing the role of Luthor who could've been used better? After watching House of Cards, I kind of feel the same way about Kevin Spacey being wasted by Bryan Singer as I do about Rosenbaum on Smallville. I think he, too, had the makings of a great Luthor, but, unfortunately, was buried beneath Hackman's shadow in that glorified fan film.

It COULD have been really worse. Imagine, they could have hired a guy like jesse Eisenberg to play Luthor. Fortunately, it's such a crazy idea it will never happen!:)

There's a new long scene with trailer. I don't know, but does this Spiderman have spider sense?! In Civil War he got hit constantly and these new trailers show he is slow to react too!
#Notmyspiderman :/

He has it ... when Bucky threw something at him in Civil War, Spidey says, "Oh god!" and then ducks before it hits him.

He also sensed danger when Ant Man was on Cap's shield when he was holding it but he couldn't figure out what it was before Ant Man hit him.

His spider sense reacts to danger. That kid being there wasn't danger to him.

But then Falcon hit him from behind though.

Just like how Raimi Peter would get hit alot. When spiderman is caught off guard or isn't paying attention his senses go off but once he is aware of the danger and is fighting his senses aren't buzzing anymore.

I've got to say: I really hope this works out and I really hope they're able to get Holland in it for the long haul, because I feel like they've got a kid who's talented enough that he'll be able to transition into a more adult Peter the older he gets. Looking at Liz Allen, Pete in High School, a lot of people don't want to see that stuff, but I like the idea of Marvel starting clean with a blank slate, and I like the idea of Peter's role evolving over time. I want to see an older Stark or Rogers. I want to see Bucky or Sam pick up the Shield. I like the idea of this being a universe that changes and evolves, where Spider-Man can go from a teenage amateur relegated to a glorified cameo to an experienced superhero who has a prominent place in The Avengers.

The way Marvel is introducing stuff, I feel like it can work well, too. Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel; I feel like they can create new rosters and new focal points for this universe. I'm excited for this movie and I really don't want to see Sony find a way to **** it up.
