Yeah, the problem is that if those sell, what is the message being sent? They might think we want more crappy characters.

eFX made the official announcement this morning - Piggie, Pepe, Rizzo are being developed and Fozzie isn't dead, but isn't confirmed either.

eFX also has the general Disney license for prop replica and collectibles and will be doing the Snow White heart box first.

I remember back in 2004 Master Replicas had a 1:1 Princess Aurora's Tiara from Sleeping Beauty that was completed. I remember seeing it in the R&D room and the plans were to have it match the Cinderella's Slipper they came out with. I also remember hearing that the Snow White Heart Box was on the short list.

The Aurora tiara never made it pass prototype but I'm interested to find out whether or not it's back on the list. Not to mention I remember seeing a bunch of various muppet photos printed out on walls with various notes so the list could be quite comprehensive.

Yeah, the problem is that if those sell, what is the message being sent? They might think we want more crappy characters.

That's just a matter of opinion...
I'm and old school Muppet fan... I'd love to have a complete Electric Mayhem collection, but in reality, they would be expensive as hell, and not as popular...
From a business stand point, it makes sense for them to release smaller characters like Rizzo and Pepe, I never understood why the hate towards them...

Rizzo I could live with or without, but he was a very insignificant and somewhat annoying character. I would much prefer Robin. As for Pepe, he is a post-Jim Henson Muppet. None of those are worth a damn, IMO.

I know he is a Post-Jim Muppet, I've been a fan as far as I can remember, but I like Rizzo, and I think Pepe is hilarious...

They were presold by Master Replicas but were never released. Trust me. I had an order for Sleeping Beauty's Tiara from an etailer who put it up early and got a notice that it was "discontinued".

Agreed. I'm glad to see this line get another chance. Disney and Muppets are probably the safest licenses to have in a recession.

Unfortunately, Disney has mishandled the Muppets and treat them
as sidekicks for crappy "pseudo-singers"... while they are in fact what makes the SHOW!!!
People see the Muppets as a nostalgia franchise, not as a current one...
It's sad...

They treat them pretty good when it comes to merchandise and DVD's though. We finally got Season Sets of The Muppet Show when they got the rights to them. They also are giving the Muppets theyr own Vinymation series. Kermit has gotten a great Big Fig statue. We probably wouldnt have gotten the replicas if it wasnt for Disney. Plus they have made the best Muppet Special/Movie since Jim's death. Letters to Santa: A Muppets Christmas Special. Which is coming to DVD in September.

Before Disney the only good Muppet Merchandise was the Palisades figures and the Sideshow bust.

The Muppet Show DVD's release dates sucks... it takes too long and they could've done a better job on the extras and packaging... not really collector friendly... and Season one was lacking a bunch of sketches...

Do you have info on those Vinylmation? I've only seen Kermit, and I personally don't like Kermit on a Mickey's body... I like Designer Toys and Urban Vinyls but this one is a sad example of how Disney has screwed up the Muppets...

Oh and sorry, but Letters to Santa sucked big time...IMO...

I mean, they're just there for Disney to make a quick buck...
they don't treat the Muppets with the respect the franchise deserves...

Sorry about the rant... I like Disney, and I love the Muppets,
I just don't think Disney is doing a good job handling them...
