Yeah...I think thier definition of 'Exclusive' needs some work. I don't agree with it. Sure it generates more money for them and retailers (like me), but I don't think it's quite right. Just like with the Borders Exclusive Luke ROTJ FX.

or even the best buy exclusive edition miniatures... i've been saying it for the past year and a half---Master Replicas has changed since they first started business. IMO they are no longer collector oriented but profit oriented.

Seems true. I understand the need to make a profit, but don't do it by announcing items as 'exclusive' and then re-releasing everywhere later. That is just wrong IMO.

im just irate about the whole "elite edition" crap. i was one of the first people to order from them... back when being a collector's society member was free if you ordered from them. and now that im seeing some of the first sabers being remade into the "elite" versions it makes me wish i didnt buy the ones i had. i have a couple signature editions that are my favorite, but im thinking about selling all my sabers so i can start getting into the statue/ busts collecting.

I've never seen a .45 saber in person. What's the average length and diameter of one of these?

I"m not sure but I'd guess it's 45% of the size of a 1/1 version, thus the .45 and the lower cost.

I have never bought any Master Replicas stuff but I saw the luke and darth lightsabers that light up and make the noises at The Sharper Image (someone gave me a gift certificate) and I'm tempted to get one, they really look cool but I don't think I'd get into collecting the really expensive ones that don't light up, unless they worked like the real thing!

they make some beautiful sabers, blasters, scaled replicas. the mini sabers are pretty nice- i have of the first years jedi and sith collection. they are pretty cheap and you can fit them all on one shelf. as for the regular 1:1 sabers they are really nice its just aggravating that you spend $250 and ^ on some of them and MR replica decides to make more money by re-releasing it a year or two later.

I don't have any 1:1 sabers either, so I'm still unsure of the size of the .45 sabers.

I sadly wish I would have sold my Obi for that, fortunately I only paid about $55 for it.

thanks to MR my obi wan weathered mini 'exclusive' has lost it's high value. oh well... :banghead should have sold it last year.

Join the club, they are about $30 on the bay right now. :google

I'm wondering if the dates will be different...mine has some 2004 copyright dates...not that that makes a big difference, but just wondering if anything at all will be different. Some people will still consider it a different release and collect for that reason. Waiting on my shipment now to see.....

But yes, very bad decision. Definition of 'exclusive' means nothing.

Hey, Sideshow could re-release the Balrog under this definition...retailer exclusive instead of Sideshow Exclusive. Or maybe make it with higher end materials and paint and charge a few extra bucks. What do you say Sideshow? Wanna make some $$$$ and PO some people at the same time? :naughty

The truth be known...whatever makes one happy. Actually don't recant...say you don't like, but if Sideshow wants to make another Balrog...well...I guess we can't stop them and must join them (I guess that is what MR is thinking). lol
