Well Toyguru needs to shut the heck up about "anything is possible" then...because the Castle is not possible unless we get a movie which is dead too (a studio has to fund the picture and nobody wants to for real, and sony is full of _____)

He does shoot himself in the foot on a consistent basis.

this post from an Org member pretty much sums up exactly how I feel

The latest company statement regarding the possibility of getting Castle Grayskull in MOTUC has me fuming.

Mattel, don't hand us this BS. You want us to blindly commit to a year's worth of figures in advance with a subscription? Fine. I did it. In fact, I bought TWO.

Now how about some commitment from YOU for a change? Instead of all this "if" and "when" we get to this or that, or not until a movie year, blah, blah, blah. Don't tell me you can't sell a $300 plastic shell without making a profit. Have you seen the new Hasbro Star Wars AT-AT? Most stores only stocked two of them, so the production couldn't have been very high. Not to mention there hasn't been a SW movie in theatres in FIVE YEARS. You mean to tell me Hasbro can make a ten pound, ARTICULATED vehicle that has ELECTRONICS in it, pay a licensing fee to Lucasfilm, and sell it for a mere $100, MAKING A PROFIT, yet you cannot make an empty plastic shell of a castle YOU OWN the rights to for $300 and make a profit? Riiight.

I am collecting every figure in this line and supporting it 100% based on the PROMISE YOU MADE about getting to EVERY SINGLE vintage, POP, and NA character in time, yet we still hear "if and when" all the time.

We want ALL our figures. We want vehicles, and most of all we want Castle Grayskull. (and Snake Mountain too, while you're at it!)

the Barbie house and tower playsets are 130-150 in stores and they can produce those (dont say well its Barbie because Barbie is not as big as it used to be) I have seen ailses of Barbie turn from a whole ailse into 4-8 feet sections. It doesnt sell like it used to

New news on Sy-Klone:
• Same waist as all the other figures (no spinning)

That's too bad... but makes sense. For some collectors I could see a super loose waist being a pain in the ass, but it sure would be fun to get him spinning at full speed :lol

Also sad to hear about Grayskull... but not a huge surprise. I'm honestly surprised Mattel has been this open to a collector-focused line like MOTUC; guessing a big draw for them is the built-in reuse factor. Grayskull would be a one-off and $300 for a dio piece is probably a tough sell for the general collector who is used to spending $20 on a figure.

To me $300 for a dio isn't that far out of line, but I also have spent that much on a single 1/6 figure :lol

Hey guys and gals, I thought I'd quickly show off two of my MOTUC repaints, more photos can be found in the Custom section of the He-Man Org.

Original Skeletor on the left, my repainted TRU version on the right. Everything has been repainted except the blue skin. Cape is from Keldor.

My version of King Grayskull. Originally I was going to make a 200X He-Man, but I liked this a lot better. The sword is a repaint from the first weapons pack, and the shield is from Carnivous. Repainted head, cape, boots and silver armor.

Why did you got with a "realistic" skull look for Skeletor? It would have looked better with a more interesting green/yellow hue.

I have another version (see my Skeletor thread on the Org) with a repainted yellow skull, but I much prefer making the figures look slightly more realistic and skew to adults rather than kids. That said, I try not to be too painterly and go crazy with washes, but keep things fairly clean and retail ready.

Nice repaints Badvermin, I really like the Randor. Not so keen on the Skeletor face but it's still a great paint job. :duff

the castle situation is a joke. something like a Castle Grayskull should be made as thank you to all the loyal fans and customers. not a profit maker. and if i hear the word "Logistics" one more time, i swear i'm gonna rip my hair out.:gah:

They're a business. that they do the line AT ALL is Fanservice. However, as a business they've got to make money. so at the end of the day, if they see no profit in the castle, then it's not going to happen.

I got that vibe immediately, I would of done the same.
