you'll never see Fisto...he is 100% gone

the extra stock is mostly the figures that didn't sell well...as far as Big Lots selling these,it sounds like ONE store that had them

I went to 2 Big Lots today, my brother went to 1 and my wife went to 1. My brother is the only one that found Molar and Ghostbusters 12 inch 2 Pack at one store - They are out there

the whining has begun because She-ra is NOT on the Grayskull box art package (as she should NOT be)

POP was made for girls (or girly men) when are people going to understand that?

well he-man is kind of girly if you look at it

he is a flamer

However I wish they made a POP only subscription instead of making us pay for that crap

not the Mini Comic He-man or the 1982 original toy He-Man....it was the Filmation cartoon who made him into a flamer (aka pink wearing prince adam)

Based on what?

He-Man_0.jpg

Heman is a high-fantasy set Barbarian hero male power fantasy. It dosn't get much more hetero than that.

Big beefy dude beats up the badguy and gets the girl.

There's certainly an argument to be made for She-Ra not being on the Castle Greyskull box. Some very reasonable logical arguments such as "she was not on the original box" or "she isn't even on the same planet".

"She-Ra is gay" or "She-Ra is for girls" is not a reasonable argument to me and given the obvious other arguments I don't understand why it would even be brought up.

I WILL say this.

All of those male leads, He-man, Conan, Leonidas, ETC. are well built, Attracive dudes. I can see how that would attract, and appeal to Homosexual men, but that dosn't by nature make the material Homosexual, and dos't make "adam" or He-man gay.

This mentality is tantamount to saying Scarlet johansen is a lesbian becuase she makes some of the ladies excited too.

Castle Grayskull doesn't even appear on POP accept when she channels its Demons to transform...

It makes no sense to have her on it when the Castle is the monument of the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

Well, to be fair, a little nod to her could work. perhaps have a shiloette of her in the distance? a nod to the connectivity between the stories, yet it also emphasizes how far away and removed she is from all the events in eternia.

Sorry I meant the cartoon mainly. Don't get me wrong I loved he-man as a child and the toyline is not girly. He just had a strong feminine side.

However I found this which was kind of funny -

You've got prince Adam and he is kind of gay, but when he has the "power"(or as most gay people become empowered) he is able to become he-man (and He-Man looks a lot like what most gay men look like). As He-Man he fights Skeletor, now we have skeletons in our closets, gay people come out of the closets, its all metaphor.

Sounds more like projecting and reaching than a metaphor. YES, some of it matches up a little bit, But I don't exactly see filmation planning all that when they created the cartoon series.

How exactly is Adam Gay?

As for the " looks like what most gay men look like" bit?

Um, no.

Imagine the undertaker from WWE from the mid 90's. Let him keep his long hair, but make him Bald on top. With a Goatee, and a Potbelly.

OR a 600lb black guy with an afro, who talks like a valley girl.

or a tall skinny guy with a bowlcut, who VAGUELY resembles bill pullman

OR a short kid with glasses, "poofy" hair, who wouldn't be caught dead in a gym?

That's my 4 Gay friends.

Gay guys are just like every other guy. Comes in all shapes and sizes. YES, hollywood has perpetuated a sterotype of extremely fit, feng-shuway types. But that's all it is, a sterotype.

Don't believe everything you see in movies man. it'll make you a not-well rounded individual.

He-Man looks like most gay men?? I don't think so

Most gay men today are as flame as they come...you can tell most of the time who is gay and who is not especially by action,Dress and words

A half naked muscle guy doesn't automatically mean gay looking

because he wears pink clothing.....most people who don't collect he-man, but remember's him as kids, always associates him as GAY because of what the Filmation cartoon did to him (wearing pink and purple clothes) and transforming into a muscle man

IMO,the Filmation cartoon ruined He-Man

It Certianly was Campy as all hell getout, Though, Pinks and purples are colors traditionaly associated with Royalty. Both historicly, and in fantasy. Adam's a prince. He wears pink.

And As i've said before, Fairly masculine men in other fiction wear pink as well. One in particular ALSO happens to be a prince. It dosn't make them gay. it means they like the color.

Pinks a color. Yes, now-a-days it's associated with girls, but that is starting to change.

Now if Adam wore a rainbow shirt, and had a triangle shaped hat with matching belt buckle, I MIGHT agree with you.

As far as the cartoons go, 200x series was much superior. "Anime" influence and all.

Adam isn't really in any way "openly gay" any more than Clark kent was in similar early material.

I can't find any way to segway from openly gay to openly black, and a james Brown reference.. as much as I want to :(
