IMO Classics should encompass the ultimate versions of each character... Of course the f design is their 80's counterpart when available, but figures like Snout Spout, Clawful, Tung Lashor, Roboto, to name a few could've benefited of more 200x influence...

I really doubt it's Scott, he's been laying low a lot lately... Why post here all of the sudden?

Eh, I don't see 200x under the term "Classic"....200x is only 13 years old (that's not classic to me)......Vintage MOTU is 33 years old,to me that is "Classic"....the figures should be modern upgrades to their vintage counterparts FIRST,using today's technology in action figure making.

I am not interested in Hybrid MOTU figures combining Vintage and 200x elements together. They are two different type of interpretations of the characters.Classic to me should be based off the Vintage MOTU

Now,I like 200x MOTU and they should get their own figures or I welcome the extra 200x heads for figures, but I didn't want and don't want 200x/Vintage mashups of the original figures...I wanted updates of figures I had as a kid and I feel we got that with MOTU "Classics"

Agree to disagree...

200x has their own sub line now and figures in the main sub..I am okay with that...we don't need a Vintage/200x mashup of figures when the resurrection of the line is cleary based off the vintage line as it should be.

IMO 200x should get their own updated figures and not bastardize the vintage characters from the 80's :)

I am 100% in complete agreement with you teemu. I know 200X has its fans, but as you say it is not "classic". When was the last year that 200X toys were released? Like 2004? Classics started in 2008 - that means 200X had only been gone for 4 years at that point. Definitely not classic.

Goluphi
Son of He-Man
Gleekor

is that you??? :lol

It would be more apt to be you than me, since you're the one who has a history of pretending to be something you're not. :wink1:

Overall I prefer vintage to 200X designs, but I do like it when Mattel has worked in both options. I would have appreciated the inclusion of both styles with Fisto more were it not for the smooth ab piece and the ridiculously large sword holder on the back of his armor.

:lol you're back

I know you are Goluphi from He-man along with the many other names you've created.

Yet King Grayskull, a 200X figure, started it all in 2008.

as an exclusive

what was shown first??? the prototype of CLASSIC 80's He-Man :) to launch a whole new line of updated clasics

king grayskull is not classic by any means

I don't mind the 200x...but I think putting a 200x Clawful head on a Classic Clawful doesn't look right at all..."Muppet" head Clawful all the way!!!

Yeah, as a con exclusive. Followed by what? 11 straight vintage figures :)

Quite a few of which had 200X design elements.

I get what your guys' preference is in regards to this line, since it is officially called MOTU "Classics", but it has incorporated all eras of the brand from the very beginning. What you desire for it to be (classic vintage) is not what it is. Even though the overall sculpting style has been consistent the design choices have been made on a character by character basis and have varied greatly at times.

:exactly: this line wasn't even meant to go as far as it did.....and yet it led a whole year of vintage "Classics" start (not 200x,not pop,not na)

So The Loyal Subjects have Masters of the Universe Action Vinyls coming! (these are amazingly fun figures- see their TMNT Actions)

SDCC Motu Classics exclusive gets revealed next week (flying fists he-man/terror claws skeletor)

2016 lineup looking like Granita,Dylamug,Hans Hammer Holder,Robo-Woman,Lodar

2016 is probably the year I become a cherry picker. I don't care to pay $35-40 after shipping and taxes for these. They should do Filmation variants of some of the big guns.

same here. After being a subscriber since the beginning, its time to cherry pick.....I honestly think 2015 will be it and whatever they show at SDCC we will be the last...While the die-hards will still Sub,I don't see 2016 going through no matter who they put in the lineup as I feel many feel the same we both do especially with the cost for these figures going up and up...each figure with tax and shipping is running about $40-42 a piece

You're wrong about this, as with many other things...

I thought the smooth ab piece was a great choice. Without it, we get figures like Jistsu that you can only have in one pose without their "belly button" peeking out.
