You know what dude, every indirect, cowardly stab at me only makes you look like a troublemaker. Didn't you add a few of us to your ignore list or something? I guess that's not working out for you, so you resort to provoking more trouble instead. Makes sense. :cuckoo:

don't feed the coward TROLL :lol

Kuwahara, I just don't care enough to continue this conversation further and I don't think anyone else wants to read it either.

That's fine by me, Some people just can't hang with the kuwa. ;)

"I don't think anyone else wants to read it either."

IDK, maybe you should speak for yourself only.

I think shelf space is limited more by widths and depth than height. But maybe that's just me. I place the taller stuff on the ground or on the top shelf.
Like this.

Anyways, I think the bigger it is the more figures you can put on it as well so that allows you to free up some space.

That looks awesome dude!!
Great work!!

No need to. He is right. Noone is reading your endless comments or is interested in them. Try to focus a little. 3-5 sentences per post are usually enough for a board like this. Also simply stop being so provocative and you will see, this is a great place for discussion and your freetime. :duff

The only people being provocative are the Matty apologists and Scott Neitlich defenders. I happen to bring up what seem to be taboo issues on here, and all the white knights come out of the woodwork. It's not my fault certain people can't handle what I say. I've said it before and I may as well say it again. I've merely been posting opinions, and when people try to debate them with me, and lose, they resort to twisting it around as me being the belligerent one. This fact has already been pointed out by a few members here. Stop trying to shut people down. We are all free to say what we want on here, if you don't like it, tough.

"No one is reading your endless comments or is interested in them"

Is that yet another feeble attempt to try and sway me from discussing the follies of Mattel?

"3-5 sentences per post are usually enough for a board like this."

Wow, so your basically telling me not to even bother posting here because no one cares, and then tell me how long my posts should be? LOL! Man, there are a lot of .orgers on here aren't there.

I personally don't think 20% will make that much of a difference is shelf space. If you can fit it in your home, then 20% ain't going to be a deal breaker.

I for one would welcome Snake Mountain at the size that it is. Even at 20% less things like steps and the bridge may end up looking childish. Some may remember I bitched from high heaven that Castle Grayskull could not fit both He-Man and Battle Cat through the door like my Zombihamma Castle. I love the Mattel Grayskull but i would still prefer it to be bigger.

I think some here are nieve in thinking that productions costs are not at the forefront of any decision.

I agree, The reasons given so far which are:

Size and Price

Don't make sense to me.

A 10-20% size reduction isn't going to free up that much more display space.

A 10-20% size reduction isn't going to change the price tag. (IMO)

My guess is the size reduction is based on the engineering of it, individual parts disassembled, weight, and how it will fit in the box, but first and foremost, cost for Mattel to produce it

See? Again no interest. :duff

I'm 100% sure production costs are the reason! But that also usually factors into what the final thing will cost, too because of shipping/packaging and all that fun stuff. So if SM is 10% smaller and stays around the $300-$350 price point I'll be good. From what I've heard, they are trying to keep it at 10% and it's more height than overall, of course. It'll be selectively done, not just an overall shrink. A smaller Castle Grayskull will just fit into my display and space, so that's why I'm okay with it. That being said, I also actually like the idea of the rival playsets being about more or less the same bulk, but with just the mountain part being a bit taller. I just find that more pleasing aesthetically and collection-wise versus having this massive Snake Mountain playset that dwarfs Grayskull.

Personally I do not own CG. In fact its the only thing MOTUC related, that I have passed on because I thought it was a joke. It simply did not reach my expectations. Check out the Zombihama CG display. That would have been the way I wanted CG. Unfortunatly I dont own that one either.

Anyway, what I am really wondering about, would people really like to display a SM that is that HUGHE next to their CG that looks being designed for 3-5" figures? The two have to be in a proper relation not only for display reason but because of "estethical" reasons, dont they?

I agree the Castle Grayskull we all got isn't big enough. However, it is what it is, and is now the precedence (IMO). Snake Mountain should now follow it (IMO). Now, even though the vintage Snake Mountain isn't as big as vintage Castle Grayskull, that shouldn't be the case with the classics counterparts (IMO). The Classics Snake Mountain presented at SDCC (IMO) is the perfect scale next to Castle Grayskull. A 10% scale down would just barely be acceptable and pushing it (IMO).

I don't think because some feel that Classics Grayskull is more in scale with 3-5" figures, means Snake Mountain should be the same. Since it is supposed to be a mountain, and it is partially based on the Filamtion look, I think it should be bigger and taller than Classics Grayskull.

The bottom line is, the one shown a SDCC is perfectly in scale with Classics Grayskull (IMO), any reduction at all whether they really need to or not is already going to screw up the look of the play set.

(IMO)

If I ever sell my Zombihamma one ...which is my own ego driven opinion is the best painted one out there, I will let folks know. :)
I do need to scale back some of my stuff but nothing is confirmed yet.

So there's a poll over at the you know where for people to vote on what they want for Snake Mountain. Since one doesn't need to be a member to vote, I'd say Mattel is probably keeping a close eye on this one. If there is any chance in hell that this poll will directly effect how SM will turn out, I think it would be a good idea to take a minute or two and answer these poll questions.

Thanks for the link, I've completed the questionnaire.

"I'll be honest my first reply to you took me over 15 minutes and I get the feeling this could go back and forth for a while if I get caught up. So very quickly:

Everything is finite, you cant have infinite space. This is not an opinion, it's a fact!"

No, It's a fact for you, not for me. For me, where there's a will, there's a way. If I wanted to be a zombie collector and have every toy ever made from every company in the past 20 years, I could do it. To say it's impossible and a fact is simply wrong.

"I explained my situation as you couldn't understand why people are suddenly saying they have limited space or funds.

You said I should be used to having to pay high shipping costs after 8 years, which implies that I have been paying them already. So, whether intentionally or not, you did comment upon shipping costs."

Semantics? Yup, always the last resort when a person doesn't have a strong argument. Bravo! You said that I said international shipping prices are higher than they should be, but I did not say that. LOL!

"You've been seeing the "Size is not practical" excuse from lots of people, including me, because it affects a lot of individuals. If it affects enough and they choose not to buy it then SM wont be made."

I personally think you and all the other people who want it smaller are in the minority. Just take a look at the latest .org poll based on the subject. That's just one fan site with only a percentage of ALL MOTUC collectors.

"I want a SM no taller than 1m, if it's taller than that I'll move on and spend my money somewhere else, probably HT Star Wars dioramas."

This is where the irony kicks in. You don't want SM to be TOO BIG, and if it is, you wont buy it and continue to collect another toy line. So, you have space for Star Wars dioramas, but not a HUGE SM. Gotcha. :clap

So space is not finite? Well it's good to know all I gotta do is want it real bad and the whole planet grows! Which means my yard gets bigger. My house. My rooms. Wow. Here I was thinking it was fixed. Man, all those teachers and those phd guys and gals on TV..who knew all it took was a great will to completely change everything everyone has ever thought.

Can you grow me a bigger house to? I'd like more space, but I have wished and wished for hours and days and years..but my "all I gotta do is want it and it happens" button must be broken. Can I borrow yours? Or you can do it for me. That would be easier. Also, I could use a few more zeros in my bank account. Since you can grow the universe, a couple zeros should be ok...thanks man!

With the exception of me being able to grow the universe, You're right. :) Even though your being cynical, nothing is as impossible as you make it out to be.

Sorry, but because you are unwilling to find a way to make a growing collection of toys fit your lifestyle, doesn't mean Mattel should make a play set like Snake Mountain any smaller than it needs to be.

IMO.
