Mmmm, hope Lord Dactyl turns out like this guy (but with bat wings and more gargoyle-y).
The (Meka)-Neck-ed Truth
from Action Figure Insider - Best Toy News on the Web! by JuliusMarx
Right around the time of Comic Con the question was raised a few places asking if the 2 neck insert pieces from the MOTUC Mekaneck could be used together to make one large neck piece. The answer back from Mattel was a sort of vague “that’s not really how they were designed to work”.
Now I have the figure in-hand and I can tell you that yes, it is possible and very easy to do. Yes there will be a spare band at the connection point. It’s up to the individual collector to decide if that bothers them or not.
I thought Matty showed a photo of the neck being extended to 2 different sizes. A mid-range extension and a full extension.

Yeah that would be the two extensions.
I just thought it was odd that Matty says they didn't make the neck to do that, but they had already shown preview pics of the neck extending to both sizes.
What they said was that the toy was not designed so you could put the two extensions together to make one long neck. Which you can't REALLY do. You can't make one, continuous neck, because of the blue piece.
But you CAN physically do it and paint the central blue piece or just ignore it if you don't want to. It just wasn't designed to do that. Does that clear things up? Or am I confused about your confusion?
His face and helmet line up weird, his eyes wouldnt be able to see out of those lenses unless they were on his forehead, hes got old school Hawkman syndrome.
I'm beginning to think some MOTU fanatics are just trying to find stupid things like this for the sake of being negative...

However, the head is also the spot on the figure that carries an issue that seems to have popped up during the production process. The placement of the helmet seems to be well, slightly askew and might cause a positioning issue in relation to the eyes. You have to look slightly up at him in order to really see it, but the goggles sit more inline with where his eyebrows would be, rather than his actual eyes. But, on this one, you have to look closely. In fact, I might not have even noticed it save for some extreme close ups. It is not 100% perfect so it will be an issue for some, while others won’t skip a beat. I do wish it lined up better with the eyes, though.
