Back and forth on this one. It resembles Reeve in profile under certain light. Not sure if it's worth keeping my pre-order,

Does anyone else get horrible paint applications on their Mcfarlane figures? My Blind as a bat batman came with a light sand hue and so did the biker helmet, I fixed them with lacquer paint to match the factory sheen and it looks like a DC collectible figure now, i forgot to repaint the normal head but the others are done:

IMO McFarlane's paint apps have pretty much always been horrible, but I've noticed significant improvement lately.

On that Reeve Superman, what's up with the pointing finger? Is it supposed to be an homage to the first publicity photo? Because that was his left hand.

Yeah as usual with a general release they goofed it up

Fleischer Superman went up for pre-order today. Secured one for myself.
I did the same. The cape should be shorter, but overall a great figure that I'll pose in from of my many collections of those shorts!

oh no!
That's really bad news!
Mattel did absolutely nothing good with the DC license during all the years they got it...

Mcfarlane was making some really good stuff, especially for the old movies like the 90's Batman...
It's far from perfect but at least they are giving us things that nobody ever made, like all vehicles in 1/12, the cowls replica in 1/1 and 1/3 etc...and for really affordable prices...
There was so many things left to do...
I hope they will still be able to produce some cool stuff before the license dies again in the hands of Mattel..

And what about Spin Master?
they had really cool stuff coming with the DC retro line...

After the cancellation of the Hot Toys Batmissile,it's seems that this month had only bring bad news. regarding DC....☹️

Doesn't Mattel make cheaper looking figures.

Was a long run for McFarlane, I can't imagine they'd be making anything that would sell as much as their DC figures.

McFarlane figures had their problems, for sure (had a few break on me, many had terrible exclusivity and shelf ratios, and they were allergic to many popular female characters), but I appreciated the size, paint apps, and cost value on many of them. That White Knight Azrael is a work of art and well worth the $20 I paid for him.

Could be McFarlane still has the master license and Mattel is getting subleased but that seems unlikely. They must have outbid McFarlane because I can’t imagine he’d want to give it up. Perhaps this might allow him to work more on collector oriented figures and Mattel more kid focused?

Interesting. I've actually really come around on McFarlane figures. I will say they are all over the place and need focus on what kind of toy line they are. Some figures come packed with great accessories. Some don't even get extra hands. I hope that McFarlane is able to hold on to a more collector focused line. And they need to start producing female characters in decent numbers.

That's very disappointing if McFarlane loses the license. I remember when it was announced that McFarlane got the license, I was a bit skeptical on how the figures would turn out since most of the figures I had seen from them was statue like. I was pleasantly surprised at how much variety in sculpts and figures they released in addition to products. Seeing them release an 89 Batmobile, a Forever Batmobile and a Batman and Robin Batmobile is far more than Mattel would have done. I wasn't a huge fan of the platinum editions since it makes it hard to find figures I want but I respected them for putting so much out there.
