I would agree there. No one else can pull him off. He'll only be in it for a bit, but he's a must have for me.

As much as I'd love them to be able to do this with Ian Holm as Bilbo, I just don't think it's possible. I will live with a replacement for Bilbo (but they sure as ^^^^ better not do anything as stupid as what gdb suggested)

A truely inspired casting choice! I never would have picked McKellen for Gandalf, but I think he will be brilliant!





As for Bilbo, I really think they should look into what they did at the begining of X-Men 3 with Xavier and Magneto. Sure it would be expensive, but wouldn't we all prefer that instead of having to recast Bilbo? They make such a big deal about him not looking like he aged a day so another actor really would ruin that.

i agree. and when they are done with that they should put an older ewan mcgregor in all of alec guiness' scenes in the SW OT. for continuity's sake.

this guy once told me he liked how lucas had replaced ghost anakin in ROTJ with hayden christensen. he was in traction for 3 weeks afterwards. i took him some grapes. but he didn't deserve them.
