Medicom ALIEN? Is it worth getting?

Hey Sabers... which Medicom version is that? I have the black Aliens version... and have seen a few different version, but not familiar with this one.

It's the "clear" version.

I wanted this specifically because I had read that Giger wanted to make the Alien transparent. After I saw a pic of the transparent Alien suit, I thought this fit the bill pretty well.

Well...WAY back then it did. :rotfl

You know, there are benefits to this thing not being proper 1/6 scale. It has a much better balance to it than my HT Alien, which constantly wants to topple over even in simple standing poses. It's also got a really high end quality feel to the materials which I don't think comes across in photographs, and the size feels right for the materials used. I can't stop picking it up, it has a really nice tactile quality to it, and all the joints are nice and stiff yet yielding. Oo-er.

It's much, much better than the NECA in my opinion, but then so it should be at the price.

Edit: This HD Youtube review is probably the best illustration:

Hello, new poster, long time lurker. Know some of you on other boards.

I LOVE the Medicom Alien. Definitely worth picking up. I too think it's the best version of Giger's out there other than the Marmit. But, those are going for 500-900 bucks now.
I'm not a huge fan of the NECA version, too many little things bother me about it, the mouth, the underbite, the long neck, etc. It's still a great figure, and cheaper, but the Medicom's just seem more screen accurate.

I tried, not altogether succesfully, to take some shots of my Medi with some moodier lighting. Ridley back-lit his, so...

Thanks man. I need a better camera though.

I got my copy of Giger's Alien in the post today. Fascinating stuff, and interesting to read how thoroughly pissed off he was with the production office most of the time!

I think if the Medicom was available more cheaply we'd see some stunning re-paints. The paint job is the one thing lacking on the Medicom, although I wouldn't look to the NECA for inspiration as I'm not a fan.
