Re: Medicom - Attack On Titan - Mikasa Ackerman

Yeah, the way it is now, it doesn't really look right, & may be a bit fiddly to futz right. I think my fav look for this figure might be with the jacket off, showing off the harness.

Re: Medicom - Attack On Titan - Mikasa Ackerman

the jacket doesn't bother me as much as ya'll, but it can be better yes. I dunno, this figure still looks amazing to me. again, and I know I keep saying it but medicom does their best work on anime licenses. I never understood how they can be so bad at other real life properties but kill it on anime properties, but they do.

I agree, Medicom totally knocked it outta the park with this one! I'll have to keep a closer eye on their release knowing that they are capable of making something this great looking.

Man that's such a kickass figure!!!! I need now!!!

Re: Medicom - Attack On Titan - Mikasa Ackerman

Love it when the in-hand/con photos look better than the official promo photos.

Re: Medicom - Attack On Titan - Mikasa Ackerman

I'll give Medicom a few more chances on the QC. Amazing figure by the looks of it.

Re: Medicom - Attack On Titan - Mikasa Ackerman

Looks great! I might need to watch this series!

Re: Medicom - Attack On Titan - Mikasa Ackerman

It looks like it will be a nightmare to pose... haha.

Re: Medicom - Attack On Titan - Mikasa Ackerman

Yeah, if you put on all the layers of clothing & 3DMG :lol

I'm curious how flexible the boots are around the ankle area, & how well they hold up with multiple posing.

I'm not super familiar with Medicoms usual construction, but it looks like Mikasa's boots are two parts. The lower leg/shin section and then the actual foot, connected by a ball joint. Not %100 positive, but it looks like the joint is nicely hidden in the folds in the boots just above the ankles. So I'd guess the articulation is pretty good.

Otherwise, I'd say it's non-existant to pretty poor if the boots are one piece of PVC...:dunno

Their construction is usually bad... haha

Yeah, you got it right. There is a pretty well hidden joint under the folds. You can actually spot it in this picture:

That part seems to be designed pretty well. I think I can see it on her left foot, but it's hidden pretty well on her right foot. Nice.

Re: Medicom - Attack On Titan - Mikasa Ackerman

My daughter has already updated her 'wish' list for Mikasa and Eren when they come out, lol. She is patiently awaiting to see if they make an Armin.

Re: Medicom - Attack On Titan - Mikasa Ackerman

I finished the anime. What a terrific show. Whenever the ladies vocals in this song kicked up, my eyes widened with amazement

Nah. They do a good job. A lot of their old stuff is dated as with most 1/6 stuff of that era. Early to mid Hot Toys weren't even viable since they melted. Not sure why people always give Medicom special treatment.

"It's alright that my Hot Toys Batman is leaking, but I can't stand that my decade old Darth Vader by Medicom tore up! What a joke of a company!"

I'm hoping they do Captain Levi next. Also, I am really hoping we get a Female Titan figure done in the same scale as their Eva units.

my last 2 is an asuka (they're still selling one), and a guy from Gantz (not very old), it's definitely no amazing quality..
I mean Gantz, it's just a black suit with little bits of plastic - they couldn't even glue those properly. And I'm not the kind who "plays" with his figures, I just make it do a nice pose and it stays on a shelf.

That didn't prevent me from preordering this one & an EVA, I hope they won't screw up.

Re: Medicom - Attack On Titan - Mikasa Ackerman

I'm going to give this figure a shot just because it looks so good, but I'll probably sell it if it's not fun to pose. I'm done with Medicom if it's not a great effort :D It's a shame too because they have really beautiful figures sometimes. But in the end, paying a premium for Medicom "action figures" when you can't even pose them is a big waste of time and money. If I don't enjoy handling the piece it's gotta go and make room for things I do enjoy.

All i know is, if Mikasa's jacket is some sort of pseudo leather material, then the day will come where it will start flaking and melt in your hands...
