Hence why they are still available. I just don't understand why anyone would pay that much for a figure. Outside the rare sold out items I mean.

People are paying $175 for a Takara Batman... what's the difference? (And don't just say "because it's Batman"... not a good answer)

Same here! Can you imagine what a hassle it would be to get one of those if we had to deal with scalpers on Ebay? Thankfully we don't have to!

I had just decided I wouldn't own it because I knew he was pretty scarce and would be impossible to get! I'm so glad Medicom gives Sideshow some of their rarer pieces! :chew

I perfectly agree! But this one came as a complete surprize. Would be nice to know about this beforehand, but, that would attract scalpers too...

It's all about perception... I think this figure is amazing.

Notice the patterns... all of these are from Asian companies where higher priced figures are accepted and the weak dollar is causing us to pay more.

...and I know that some of these are incredibly detailed with tons of accessories, but I wasn't comparing the relative worth or value of the figures, only the price to purchase, which is causing some to balk...

I agree. I just received the Hot Toys Battle Damaged Predator, AvP-R Alien, and both of the Hot Toys Appleseed figures. That made it clear to me, once again, that Medicom should be ashamed for asking that much money for their figures. Hot Toys delivers much better quality for less money. But Medicom has some cool licences...

I think you should be thankful that Medicom chooses to even allow Sideshow to import their figures.

I noticed the link to ebay that you posted Lonnie, but I also saw another one on ebay going for $189 or something like that. I wonder how quickly the value of this figure will grow? I can't imagine anyone buying it for $399.

Imagine 600 of these. How many people in Asia who are avid fans of this anime, plus those that are in the US and other countries wanting to get ahold of one. The only other way was through Wonderfest in Japan. I think $399 is going to be considered cheap down the road.

Oh, I wasn't really trying to imply it was going for that price (everything that seller has listed is about double of the going rate), I was just backing up the WonderFest limited nature of the item. The only other one I saw when I searched, was just listed with a starting price of $0.99. As limited as it is, I can see people trying to get it and paying those prices; that is only about double of the MSRP.
