I received my first 1/6 scale medicom figure today, the Medicom Spiderman figure. I had heard that Hot Toys was better and that Medicom lacked quality but this is worse than I expected. The plastic broke on the wrist piece when I was switching the parts, a couple seconds after I took him out of the box. I was very careful too as I am with my other collectibles. With this I can say that I will going with Hot Toys for all my figures from now on.

That sucks I own only to RAH I hope they don't break on me, does the whole top have just collapse or what?

I guess that now you will be getting both Hot Toys Batmans

The Comic Spidey IS the most fragile I've heard of in all honesty. I've had a few Medis even the film Spideys and all were fairly durable for posing. That being said I wouldn't blame anyone who chose HT over Medi.

Buy a Hot Toys Ed-209. The quality is AMAZING!

I've not had a Medicom figure break on me yet but I will say with all the issues I've seen I am quite careful with them. Overall, they do seem to have more of a tendency to break or at least again from what I've seen here is the case. Though, you've now challenged the gods by saying anything all that is Medicom. :lol

yeah quality control is bad... but what can you do medicom has a wide range of licenses

I think you may be just unlucky with this one.. I have purchased alot of Medicom RAH figures over the years and all have been really good.. As with all I think that it is just the luck of the draw, I have had some sideshow figs that have had slight probs aswell........:D

Good and bad with all companies...........................unfortunately.... Dont let it deter you with further purchases thoough.......

In the case that a problem arose :pow would Medicom take care of the problem and send a new one or not do anything?

actually for japan collectors they do. but outside of japan i dont think so.

I think that you may first have to check back with who you purchased it from and then take that avenue to start the ball rolling in regards to honouring a replacement or the like.........Just a thought.....

Which Spiderman? There are several. If it was just the wrist peg you will probably get out of it easy, because you'll be able to get another. In the meantime, you can switch hands. I've had worse happen with Hot Toys figures.

The only medicom figures ive owned are the Metal gear Solid figures, lets put it this way,i never dare to pose them with bended joints anymore after bad luck with shoulders and legs. The last MGS4 figure had the cheapest vinyl suit ever, paint peeled of so easily, and the vinyl itself cracks open in a matter of seconds if you bend the joint areas.

Ive heard stories about Medicom besides my experience, and i think most of us can agree that their quality is terrible.
HT have had a few rubber issues in the past, but thats just a few...

I would assume you are referring to the Spiderman 3 red/blue costume? Yeah mine busted at the wrist too, about a few months after purchase. I am VERY careful with my stuff, there is no coincidence here, Medicoms quality doesn't match up with their price.

A wrist peg isn't too huge of an issue... and really I've had more HT wrist pegs break than Medicom. Although the bigger issue with that Spiderman figure is probelms with shoulder and hip breaking... luckily mine has held up just fine **knocks on wood**

Were you able to get the pin out of the wrist? If so you should be golden, except for that one hand.

the Hip on my RAH cylops broke. The medicom body can get some great poses, but it is the most fragile out there by far (well maybe excluding the Otaku 1.0)
