'Tis true that this is what we are getting, and I'm sure it will at least maintain its value. But my issue is with quality of the figure itself. A Hot Toys figure, to me, could be worth $200, but not a Medicom figure. That's why I personally am not sure I can justify the cost.

What about this figure raises questions of quality to you? The RAH body is frail, no doubt, but aside from that, this figure does compare to the best of Medicom's offerings and perhaps even HT's.

Medicom figures have always been good. There was a time when they were at the top, but HT has surpassed them since, but I find that Medicom's anime based figures are still tops, and the tailoring on their outfits rival HT.

You're right, $200 is quite high, but I love Akira and I'd kick myself if I missed this chance to own a figure of this sort. It'll only go up in value in time, undoubtedly.

I'd like to hear about a possible Tetsuo fig. Then the bike would be a pass & I'd get him as a companion piece. Right now I don't know if I can justify it until I see the bike's price and/or if Tetsuo is a possibility.

Looks AWESOME. Probably the figure I am most looking forward too. Wish it was releasing this year, but as long as it stays on track for March I will be happy. Just in time for my birthday. :D

Two heads option is cool and I REALLY hope they do a Tetsuo.

That's just it. Medicom figures are just too easily breakable, and feel light and cheap. I'm still strongly considering one of the Metal Gear re-releases, but I just don't feel like I am getting my money's worth paying $150+ for one of these things.

We agree the figure looks great, and will be a great addition to anyone's collection. But $200 for a RAH, to me, is way too much.

Thanks for sharing those! :drool

Think I have my figure of 2010 already right there.

EDIT: Just noticed that it is part of a new line-up too. Magical Toy?

Awesome...$200 awesome?...dunno...
I hate to think how much the bike will cost. I also doubt it'll be in the same league as HT Batpod. Medicom please prove me wrong coz as a set, its a MUST buy

I think there have been previous Medicom figures that have been featured in Japanese hobby magazines under "Magical Toy". Don't ask me why. It's been going for a while now (in Hobby Japan, Dengeki Hobby, etc).

$200 for Kaneda and probably $200+ for the bike.
Not going to be cheap but definitely worth it.
I hope Sideshow Imports these.
