Hi All,

Just got it today. No time to play so only took a few quick shots. May take more pics this weekend as time allows.

First impression: 5/5 HOLLY SHIET IT'S GOOD

Height is the same as SS Link. Needless to say, accessories could be shared.

Unrelated: Did someone say Claire Redfield in this thread?
She's OK. Not Hot Toys level good but I'll take it.

Delightfully warm pics! Well shot. I gave BOTW Link the Master Sword and he looks good with it. It's too bad the sheath isn't as easily swapped. It's glued on to the harness. It's easy enough to detach..I just dont want to :lol

Agree with the 5/5 holy sheeit it's good rating :lol

The figure looks great but I can’t help but notice the proportions seem to be off when compared to the game images. He looks either too tall and skinny or the tunic is not long enough. Here are a few pics to show what I mean. I hope xirality doesn’t mind, I used your photo as a reference.

The first photo I tried to make them the same height and you can see the difference in proportions when you do that.

The second picture I tried to measure the length of the tunic comparatively and you can see the discrepancies in that pic.

The last pic I tried to crop to make the heads look the same size.

There's always going to be slight proportion discrepancies when using a base body. The differences are too negligible to me to be an issue.

but you can also change the belt positions around to trick the eye a bit more. This can make the torso look longer or shorter, depending.

Also the figure seems to be based more on the promotional art rather than the in game model.

Agreed. I would lower the belts and maybe try to shorten the height a bit at the legs by removing any ankle extenders that they usually use on Medicom figures.

Thanks guys! :duff

But yea now I can't unsee it...somehow the figure is not proportioned to the in-game model.

Perhaps @Biojex is right, Medicom may have used official artwork as reference material instead. Like this one, the tunic seem to hang even higher on the thighs.

In any case, older Medicom bodies are relatively smaller and might just fit the bill if you are chasing after in-game proportions...I might try it myself if I have enough dough to throw around :gah:

The face, the gear they chose to include with him. A lot of it points to promotional art as the main reference point. But who knows...

Take care with older Medicom bodies. They tend to be pretty brittle and break easily. It might not be an even trade off if little Link's leg snaps off :lol

The new bodies are pretty good quality. I bought one for my custom esb boba. I’m happy with it

Yeah, I haven't had any problems with current medicom bodies since Skyward Sword Link. I have the GGO Kirito and he's doing okay and now BOTW Link. So far so good.

It's the old ones you have to watch out for. like 2009-2010 bodies.

Damn! I am so excited for it to arrive! I wishbi would be preordered to get it sooner but I really had no interest in it until I played the game. Now I am practically foaming at the mouth with anticipation! Loving all the pics. Can't wait to take some myself.

Awesome and very professional review! You got some great poses too :panic: You got the arrow aiming pose near perfect, but I get that it' a limitation of the medicom body itself.

subscribed! :wave

Thanks for the compliments and sub! :)

Yeah the only limit is the elbow. It's not double jointed so having him in the ready to fire pose had its challenges. Since his pants aren't stretchy, you'll have to push the extra fabric under his crotch closer to the body if you want to raise his leg a little higher.

But overall I'm extremely satisfied with this figure. Medicom has improved this over the skyward sword figure big time.

I have been re-inspired to finish my Shadow or Dark Link figure after seeing everyone’s pics of this figure. Here is a pic of my work in progress.

Very jealous and can’t wait till I can afford BOTW Link as well.

Apologies for the poor quality pic. I picked up a dynamic action stand for Link this week. I am glad that I did because I trust it (and like it) much more than the stock stand he comes with. However, it can be tricky to attach Link to the stand because 1) he is almost too skinny for the clamps to get a solid grip and 2) all of his accessories make positioning the clamps tricky. But as you can see, it is possible. :)
