Wow, thanks a lot for posting that, Vendetta. I just placed an order now. Hopefully postage isn't so bad (they say they'll send me that cost once calculated).

It should be between 30-35 bucks to Aus for EMS.

It takes a few days for the PayPal payment to process, but you'll get it pretty fast after they ship.

Great price for Tetsuo.

I thought it'd be around that at best but it actually only came to $20 postage, so $105 for the whole thing delivered, it's truly wonderful.

hows the quality from figures produced by medicom?

Well....my first Tetsuo's ankle snapped off.

I got a second one and the SAME thing happened in the same spot!

I'm on my third one now....so far so good...but I'm being reaaaaaalllllllyyyy careful with it.

Other than the fragile joints, it's a freaking awesome figure! Great head sculpts....the robot arm is excellent (but fragile!!) and the cape is really really well done!

Grab it while it's on sale instead of regretting it later!! Just be careful with it!

I had a feeling htis sucka was going to be on sale sooner or later. i hated paying $190 for Kaneda, what a ripoff. This is more do-able.

I've personally never had a Medicom body break and I've owned at least 30 or so over the years ranging from the Combat Joe bodies of the 90's up to mondern 301s. I've had some accessories get messed up and the occassional bad wrist joint (which seems to plague all companies) but no major body damage.

As a company I mostly take issue with Medicom's weak paint apps and seeming disinterest in updating the quality of their figures. Kaneda is a great example... decent figure, but it feels like something I would have bought 5-7 years ago.

But, since no one else is making 1/6 Akira figs I gotta give my money to Medicom. Just glad this time it was 50% off :lol

Gah thats a little discerning to hear :( I might still pick one up and just keep it in the box for display. Any specs on this figure? Height/weight etc...

Medicom figs are smaller than HT figs, but some of them like TDK figs are taller. I would say these ones fit in well because they have bigger heads and a good height for 15yr olds. I wouldn't be afraid to open it. Just pose him once or twice and be careful and then put him on display.

Mine was sent out on April 6 and the last report is that it's still in Tokyo, but maybe I'm misreading, maybe it's out of the country and on its way.

Yeah, the JP post tracking can be a bit slow to update. I didn't get an update on delivery until a day or two after I actually received the package.

Bummer, I wasn't home when the package arrived so I have to pick it up today. But still... a great turn around from them :duff

Mine arrived yesterday. At first I was a little disappointed, I opened it up and it wasn't all that exciting/impressive to see, but as I began posing it, particularly the cape, I gots to liking it and now I'm very happy with the figure.

I think it looks pretty much as you see online with the exception of the cape. I was surprised by the cape's material, its thin and silky/shiny. My impression of it from online was of more of a dry/harsh cloth.

The screaming head I also don't think looks that great in hand. Maybe though it's because I haven't used it yet.

This is my first Medicom figure and I don't understand the ankles. They don't seem to move at all which makes it difficult to do much more than just standing straight. A page back someone was talking about the ankles being delicate/breaking and so that sounds like there actually is meant to be some movement, or no?

Also, body feels nice and stable here. To me it doesn't feel as flimsy as some have suggested but maybe in time I'll see something break and understand what people were talking about there.

EDIT: Has anyone thought of cobbling together another figure with the second head, too, just so it's not sitting wasted? It'd certainly be tough to get anything matching exactly the Medicom outfit but to get something roughly similar doesn't seem like it'd be so tough. Plus, if you put it in a pose like pictured below, covering much of the body/outfit with the cape, you wouldn't really need to be so concerned with accuracy except for the cape part, just a single part.

The screaming head looks odd in the package, but great on the figure. It will be my main head for display.
