Prax, my cat follows me all over and can't get enough attention. She's like puppy LOL. All the cats I've ever had have been pretty affectionate. I think it just depends on their personality. I had one cat that loved to play fetch.
 
I have to admit I have never understood the desire to own snakes, spiders, lizards and such as "pets".

No offense to those who do, but I've just never understood it. They give and receive no affection at all and honestly you just kind of look at them and say "yep, there is my pet lizard" :lol

If snakes are handled regularly from a young age they can be very responsive, also some lizards are very affectionate particularly bearded dragons. I have a 22yr old Green Iguana that is very affectionate, she recognizes me, feeds from my hand, loves having her head stroked and has a harness to go for walks in the garden on the rare sunny days we have in England.
