Metal gear has gone massively to ****. It ended at mgs3 for me.

I don't think so.... I loved MGS4 and The Phantom Pain looks amazing. The story however is not for everyone I guess, I mean have you tried explaining the Metal Gear timeline to someone who knows nothing about the series.... :lol

I liked 4 but could never get behind the whole old snake thing. And all this they're doing with big boss now. It's all crap.

Thats a dayquil pill in its hand. Must not be that big of an arm.

3A got back to me about the loose leg on my Ray, they want me to ship the whole thing back. F that, from SP's experience ill live with the loose leg

It will cost you a boat load, and when I got it back it was missing ****. Don't bother with it man, seriously. Definitely the worst CS experience I've ever had in collecting.

Yea your experience was the first thing that came to mind, then the shipping costs will completely negate the savings i got. Its not too bad anyway, still happy with it.

An eyepatch... one eye... the all seeing eye.
OMG.... you solved the mystery, you just found why after Sons Of Liberty this series getting weirder. :rotfl
Sweet! Do I get a Metal Gear? :lol

Also wasn't it mentioned a few pages back that after this mechanical arm thing, there's even more inconsistencies with Big Boss's story like how this isn't mentioned at all? I also distinctly remember that Big Boss has what appears to be a functional arm by MGS4 at least

I'm not even gonna try to piece all the lore together now. Just gonna play phantom pain.and take it for.what it is.

Because Metal Gear was supposed to definitively end at MGS2, and Kojima had one last hurrah with MGS3 which by then he was dead set to have it as his last. By then the death threats and constant pressure Konami led him to produce more and more sequels and here we are today with half naked teleporting snipers.

I like MGS4, a lot. But I won't deny that it was not only a poor attempt at connecting everything, it also kinda demystifies MGS2 and ruins the supporting characters of MGS3. It's just a chapter we could have lived without, and probably better off.

It's not even worth it to follow the storyline of MGS at this point in time, as the series had reached a conclusion with MGS 4, and the timeline was fully explained and put to rest in 2008. It was a poorly done conclusion, but still, a conclusion, nonetheless. MGS V is just going off into odd places, while trying to squeeze its way into an already highly contrived canon.

Right now, I'm more interested in TPP for its technical merits and multiplayer.

:exactly:

I'm looking forward to the multiplayer and the gameplay, and the technical innovations of the FOX Engine is astounding but that's about it. I don't care about the plot anymore unless there's a really neat twist in it.

What I loved about MGS2 is how it didn't give a crap about what you think, it just wants to be it's own game. Nowadays MGS is about fan service and appeasing everyone.

Fan service - ugh, that's exactly what MGS 4 felt like. But, as for MGS V (or at least, Ground Zeroes) on the other hand, it's like it was trying too hard to fit into the Nolan-esque trends of pop-culture. As a result, it ended up in this dark and depressing realm that was totally out-of-place, and alien with the rest of the series.

MGS 2 was certainly the bravest game that Kojima had ever made in his career :lol. It was at least, very original, and completely unashamed of what it was - even though the plot (and sub-plots) flew over many heads.

MGS 4 was like fan service for one side of the fanbase honestly, the crazy ones responsible for the mess of this franchise.

We can go on about MGS2, but there's no denying how brave Kojima was. Never :lecture I still need to replay it a bunch more times, might help when I get a Vita...

I can agree with this. Even if most of what MGS2 preached flew over most peoples' heads, it was nevertheless information overload towards the end and convoluted to the extreme. For 4/5 of the game: Here's MGS2...then during the last 1/5th here's a bunch of stuff that's actually going on. *20-minutie codec call from Fake Colonel during Solidus fight* Actually, Ocelot was wrong, here's what's really going on: You're not real, I'm not real, nothing is real. 61!!

Few things to keep in mind before getting MGS on the Vita, MGS2's sniping controls are horrendous, the graphics are just a tad downgraded than the consoles, MGS3 is at 30fps, MG2 has a bipolar disorder where it shifts between 30 and 60 fps depending on the scene. I might sound like I'm bashing the port, but quite the opposite- it's actually really, really good.

If you're planning to get the Vita, try the older models as that OLED screen beats the crap out of the newer LCD screen. And get Uncharted as well. :lol

And it's nice to see you taking refuge in the MGS thread. We got your back! :lecture :lol

You just have to point blank refuse the gets!
I stood my ground when iron man got stuck at uk border force because the license people (react) for marvel disputed the license.
Ended up getting a refund and one for Dr Doom without the 5% fee and IM already in the UK (Border Force will return it to 3A or destroy it, not my problem).

They wanted me to send my rex back for a cockpit problem but I got them to send one instead. Stick your ground. Don't let the barstewards grind you down.

I'd have one of those BB arms if it was 1:1. Would look awesome sporting a cigar or a hand shooter.

Wait what? Marvel disputed... your package? That makes no sense

Yup, they basically disputed the actual license and froze the whole shipment pending either destruction of said items or proof of license from holder.
What with all the poor QC (baby rattle and paint coming off legs) and the inevitable customs charge because of the seizure, I had had enough and demanded a refund. They can fight to get their own item back. They didn't help me when I sked about license proof so fudge em!
