They shouldn't tease a clothing line like that. It's just annoying. At least this time they tweeted out that it's a clothing line right after.

Also I really haven't been impressed with any MgS clothing except that BigBoss leather biker jacket

Prepare for the onslaught of MGS merch that is going to get pushed once Kojima is out of the door. They'll ride his **** for as long as it's fruitful

I can certainly see Konami milking some new games, and releasing the respected merch. But, I'm not sure how the legalities will play out for Kojima's MGS games (including MGS V). It seems rather messy and complicated. From what I've read, KojiPro enjoyed a semi-autonomous operation for years, and they were just a subsidiary of Konami. Maybe that's why Kojima believed that the Fox engine belonged to KojiPro.

Point begin: I think it's far to early to tell, whether we'll have any MGS merchandise or collectibles from the old games being released after Kojima and his team are given the boot. Also, I'm pretty sure that Shinkawa still has ownership to his art, so we probably won't see any of his artworks on clothes, game-covers, or books anymore.

The very true regarding the artwork, and a big shame. More so than any other merchandise actually

One would think this ending of the working relationship between them would have been known prior to the public reveal, and there's been an influx of mgs merch lately. Whether it was a push to produce some stuff by Kojima/Shinkawa before their departure is hard to say. I'm not sure there's anything legally stopping Konami in making say figures or the like.

Shinkawa wasn't a contractor though. All the art is owned by Konami. Although he may have rights to royalties if they use his art in future.

I agree it's a damn shame. Shinkawa doesn't like the limelight so I don't see him releasing art on his own accord. I'd love to see his work outside of MGS or ZOE aswell

I wonder who decides on what country gets what game cover art?

The UK always got a sweet deal, until we come to MGSV of course

Man MGS is going to go all weird when they go. The next game, is going to have a different artist and all the artwork is going to suck balls.

I truly don't know anything about what's going, just assumptions from what I've read. It would be nice if there were some legal experts to shed some light on all of this nonsense. I hope you guys are right, though, and hopefully we'll have a continued supply of collectibles. And I would really like for Hot Toys to continue their line beyond MGS V.

Right now, I really have to wonder who's the ass hat, who thought that a half-scale arm would be a good "exclusive" for MGS V. The U.S and the U.K really should've gotten a full-scale arm like Japan.

I am only speculating too, I don't really know too much about it myself. If they have a not your regular type contract then I am completely talking out of my butthole :lol

They should have included that Idriod case too as well as the full sized arm the tight bastards.

If they aren't going to include a figure or a statue or even an artbook.. They could make a case for about 5 bucks too and in not even joking.

It just really sucks as a LE. For $175 (a bit more), The Witcher 3 is getting a full hardcover artbook, steel case, Griffin polystone statue, medallion, playing cards, and a cloth map. In comparison, MGS V gets a butt-scratcher arm (a half-scale one outside of Japan) and a lithograph.

Damn, MGS merch is up there now in bad value for money. A lot gets overpriced and people are happy to overpay
