I was unaware that the PAK Big Boss Splitter version was an event exclusive. Wonder how much the markup will be on those.

The variants suck! I don't know why they can't make more figures instead of repainting the same damn thing again and again..hope hot toys shows us some mgsv figures soon.
They've become so expensive, and the margin for it having issues is too high to get into anymore variants. At least the Raidens were all perfect, at least mine.

At current PAK prices, they don't have the edge of being "highly detailed yet affordable" figures that they were touted as way back when the Kai line started. Remember back when everyone wanted to buy a Peace Walker Snake figure?
What was the first PAK? I can only remember the Sneaking Suit Snake at the earliest.

Yeah, the Sneaking Suit Snake is the first MGS PAK at least. I remember it being a really, really big deal because of the price. I don't know what was the first Kai figure though, but if memory serves me right, Snake was probably some of the earliest.
My first Play Arts figures were the Cloud, Fenrir, Vincent and Sepiroth which predates the Kai line. Good times.

Some of the variants are going for almost hot toys prices..i am also done with variants.
At least the Raidens were pretty different from each other in color scheme. All the Big Boss variants never interested me.
I ordered a splitter version almost a week ago. I had sale money chilling in paypal so i only had to kick in like $50. Should have hime in another week i think. Hes cool i guess, i agree the variants are getting out of control but its scalpers. Theyre paying retail ($99) for them and ruining the hobby. Im just being a completist at this point, if i couldnt afford it id have been out on the variants. There are now 4 of venom snake.

I don't own neither, but judging by pics and reviews, HT's figure is far better than Gecco's statue.
The Hot Toys figure looks great. It's just the rubber elbows, gold-plated hair, short sword, spaghetti-string spine accessory, no light up feature... erm, what was I saying again? Oh yeah, that Gecco statue is great!
