The only Shunya fig that actually replicated his work well is the Fiona figure from Border Break.

Yep. Not to mention their figures are mostly done in simple colours and with very little shading.

I think the lead time is 6 months between painted sample to shipment. So I think we will see the unpainted sample this quarter and the painted sample in Q4. So I think we should see the unpainted sculpt in the next 2 months.

I find that actually disappointing. Sniper Wolf is one of the most tragic and one of my favorite characters from MGS, and I'd really have enjoyed a statue of her at a decent price point (which Kotobukiya is great at), but this Bishoujo version makes her look like a hentai character in heat, and that's not really how I picture Sniper Wolf.. I know that's the whole point of the Bishoujo line, but if you look for instance at the upcoming Tali from Mass Effect in the same line, she has a semi-sexy pose but doesn't look like she's begging to get banged either. Hoping for a more "serious" statue at some point.

Like I said, all the women from the Mass Effect series in bishoujo line don't look slutty or hentai'ish at all. Why does Sniper Wolf get this treatment? I don't remember her as being slutty at all in MGS, she was rather cold (no pun intended).

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to whiteknight Sniper Wolf here (she already has Otacon for that) nor am I a feminist, I like sexy women as much as the next guy, but there are so few figures of this character that I find it quite a shame that the first one in ages is such a departure from what the character was like in the game.

It's like if I made a Vulcan Raven statue and decided instead of wielding his bigass gatling he'd be feeding his birds from a bag of seed.

I understand the game is serious and the character is serious as well, but that doesn't preclude the artist from putting the character in a sexy edge. The character design sports deep cleavage to begin with. So the real issue here is the spreading of the legs and the positioning of the rifle (and the way her left hand is holding it). I think it's bold and daring to try that as they did that with Catwoman before (was not a fan with that one) and I think I'm actually cool with it this time.

Assuming this is truly a Q2 2016 release (SDCC Koto catalog says Q4 2015) - meaning April, we will not see painted sample until October and the unpainted sample will surface either August or September...
