This interesting tidbit has hit the web:

Speaking of Smallville, it looks like the show isn’t as dead as we may have thought. A new IMDB has been created for a show titled, Metropolis. Currently, Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Aaron Ashmore, and Michael McKean are listed in the credits. Is it possible the show is getting a reboot/remake?

Here is the IMDB link:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1942146/fullcredits#cast

Could be interesting considering the whole rights debacle that DC is still going through, if this is another angle for them to go through...

That was a false rumor dating back during the last season of Smallville. I never trust IMDB, too much crap on there to be taken seriously.

I would watch it. Loved the last 4-5 seasons of Smallville so this would be awesome....but "Red & Blue or Go Home" !!!!

I'd love for this show to happen - despite its infuriating inconsistency in quality writing, Smallville was still highly enjoyable for me and I spent the best part of a decade watching it.

A Metropolis show with Supes in full gear could be a great opportunity for WB and DC and it'll give them a chance to hopefully introduce more of the JLA (Green Lantern, and .... possibly... Batman??), which would be awesome to see.

I didn't like much of Smallville. I wont lie. I did, however, enjoy every single episode Erica Durance was in. I liked the first couple of seasons but mostly I was just frustrated through the rest. Season 8 had a few good ones, and season 9 so far is very enjoyable. This is how I feel. I haven't gotten past 9 yet. Lots going on.

BUT, that said...I would love a continuation if it means Tom Welling's version of Superman stops being such an annoying fruit loop, and we get to see lots of Erica!
:D

Smallville is still one of my favorite shows of all-time. I definitely wouldn't mind a spin-off, but doubt one will come along any time soon. :( Met numerous members of the cast and from what I've been told, I don't think any 'reunions' are in the near future. (Never say never though.)

Was my favorite show back in high school, but it started sucking right about the time they killed John Kent off. The characters started becoming idiotic and inconsistant just to move the plot forward (mostly Clark, who developed the power to leap to wild conclusions in a single bound), the morality that the show was preaching was incredibly flawed and dubious (most noticeably the time when everyone calls Lex sick and twisted for attempting to clone his dead brother, but then Clark used Kryptonian technology to clone his mother in the next episode and everyone thinks it is great), the characters were all college dropouts yet seemed to become established adults incredibly quickly, everyone seemed to forget about thier family, and episodes and storylines started containing more and more plotholes. The finale was really bad.

I honestly wish the show had been cancelled around the time when Clark graduated highschool.
