Cuz plebs gonna eat it up.
Nah, plebs are against it, and say the sequels are bad.

Patricians understand the nature of the trilogy and know there would actually be some narrative validity to a reboot, IF done in service to the previous trilogy.

A "reboot" in this case doesn't need to undo the previous trilogy.

But like crows says, probably won't even be the trapchowskis, so I'd already be wary of this without them.

Yea, much better than a complete reboot, which never really thought was the case.

I'd love if this was a prequel though.

And no MBJ please!

A prequel of the "rising" of the machines or something? Yeah that'd be cool, but it'd be pretty depressing to see how we did that to ourselves :lol

The first trilogy could be partly seen as how technology is sinking us and how at the end we're starting to climb out of the hole, I think the second trilogy could be about humanity ascending back into the surface for another golden age, ties directly to the Hindu beliefs the franchise is known for.

As far as casting, I'd be ok with almost anyone as long as he/she has decent acting chops. Except Keanu, it'd be stupid to recast Keanu as his own reincarnation, he could have a cameo as a random background character though, that'd be pretty cool.

The franchise should move forward and Keanu can return as an old wise man.

I don't need a prequel or see how the humans ruined the sky.

They can easily show the rise of the machines in a flashback or cool intro ala Watchmen with some cool music.

Yup I think the machine flashback should suffice, after all the story itself is only some minutes long in animatrix.

I think Keanu should return as a random non-important background non-character, as to hint at the funky nature of reincarnation, he'd be just a body that looks like the previous "one", like maybe some random dude at a pizza place who unwittingly gives some random advice the new protagonist and the new guy says "have I met you before?" - "No, I don't think so... Pizza?".

I read that in Keanu's voice :lol

Who would you cast as the new One?

I don't know, it could be anyone, there's no restrictions for me in this case.

As long as the new one is decent I'll be satisfied, the story is what matters the most in these movies, decent performances are sufficient.

It could be a kid, a girl, any race, maybe not too old because they have to wake up young...

Amy Shchumer maybe?

Sounds great.

excuse me

I liked the sequels. I thought they were fine.

Me too. The final confrontation between Neo & Smith saved Revolutions, and was a harbinger for the Superman/Zod clash to come.

As for the reboot, best-case scenario: it's awesome. Worst-case: it sucks and we just ignore it. We don't really lose either way.

Technically keanu should be a program next. His human body died but his essence is in the matrix

Remember, the one is a systemic anomaly, a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the matrix, ipso facto, concordingly, visa mastercard.

Keanu could be a program, or just a regular random dude plugged into the Matrix.

Could be left ambiguous so it could interpreted as the matrix mocking the new one.
