I want to go a movie this weekend, but there doesn't look to be anything THAT great out. Looks like Mission Impossible 3 is the only thing interesting. Have any of you seen it? How is it? Is it worth $12? If not, anything else you would recommend?

Have a great weekend everyone, and don't forget to tell you Mom that you love her (and maybe there will be a fun little Mother's Day contest posted on our contest page sometime this weekend ;)) :duff

Man, i thought I was the only one that thinks this. I heard it is good if you feel like watching an action flick right now. But, if you are into something scary I heard Silent Hill is a must see. I'm watching Silent Hill tonight. :chew Or you can just borrow a movie called The Eye:D

I thought MI3 was an okay action flick. There's some cool things in it, but it's very much a chinese-food flick - an hour later you won't remember much about it. But it's about as good as any 2 hours of 24.

Silent Hill is getting HORRID reviews, but I saw it and thought it was way creepy, with some excellent scares. The logic is more that of a dream or even a video game than a well plotted story, but it's worth it for the visuals.

I have to recommend United 93 too. I wasn't going to see it in the theater but wait for video so I could cry in private. But the way the film is presented, like a documentary and just very factual without trying to manipulate emotions, it is imminently watchable. One thing that I didn't know until the credits rolled was that most of the people at the FAA, military, and air traffic controllers are playing themselves. I think if I'd have known that going in there would have been a greater emotional impact. and while there is something a little amateurish in some performances there was never a point where I said, "that's not a professional actor."

But this weekend I'm going to see Poseidon, yah, I know the reviews are bad, but I liked the original a lot. And Keeping up with the Steins is getting good reviews. I like Piven, so might see that too.

I have only heard bad things about M:i:3. Really bad. Like Viewing Impossible bad. But I haven't seen it so who knows...

I have to second Dave's recommendation of United 93, though.

I thought it was really good. I hate MI2 and thought 1 was just ok.

It's worth seeing, especially if you like Alias (it seemed like a 2 hour Alias ep)

I just got back from seeing it and I thought that it was good. It isn't amazingly outstanding and will not go down in the history books, but it gave my wife and I a nice night out without the kids. Some nice action scenes, and it moved along and held my interest. I would give it a solid B. I don't think I could have chosen a better movie today. (Although that probably says more about the others playing right now than M:I:III itself...)

I thought MI3 was okay. It was worth going. I would also have to agree with Dave about United 93. I would also recommend it.

Wow! $12... I pay $7.50.

I saw it for $5.25 (in the afternoon). It was good. I liked it better than MI2, but Da Vinci should blow it away next weekend. I wonder if they make an MI6 if Bond would be in it

MI3 was ok but it was like watching a 2 hour episode of "Lost" I found. I know J.J. Abrams was the director but when you have the same composer (as Lost) doing the music along with shots that were almost exact replicas of scenes from "Lost" you can't help but notice.

So movie recommendations. Well there are a few films I haven't seen that I really want to. They look quite interesting....

Hardcandy
The Natorious Betty Paige
Art School Confidential

I saw Silent Hill and An American Haunting last weekend...both worth a see. The ending to Silent Hill was so so but it was full of gory goodness for fans of the horror/gore genre.

Oh and on a sidenote...I watched "Hostel" a few weeks ago and I came away with the same feelings about it that you had. It was so terrible I was laughing through the majority of it. I just couldn't take the film seriously at all.

Uh ok, let me say that I don't like the first two MI flicks, but this 3rd one is awesome. It feels like a big budget ALIAS movie which is a good thing. Pretty hardcore for a PG-13 movie too. Definitely check it out.

i saw it this afternoon with the girlfriend and we both enjoyed it. i highly recommend viewing because it has great acting in it and non-stop action. im a fan on the series and this one is the best so far.

BTW, I've been meaning to tell you how awesome the photo in your footer is! Love it - great shot!! I have been missing the sun lately - what's up with the weather?? Luckily it was nice and sunny today finally!

I still haven't gone to a movie this weekend. Rather than pay for a night-time show, I think I'll wait for the Sunday matinee. I did buy 'The Grudge' for $4.99 at Blockbuster the other night though, and ended up watching it late Friday night.... man, that movie is FREAKY. Not much for a story-line, but it totally freaked me out. I think my heart rate went up quite a bit while watching it... :lol

I can't wait for next week - DaVinci Code!!! Then X3. Then Superman. Then POTC 2!!!! :chew
