I haven't been following this movie too closely, but how in the world did the project even get the go-ahead from the studios. Everything about this looks abysmal at best.

They're not THAT bad. Not great mind you, but I'm still cautiously optimistic about this. I'm actually looking forward to the official release of...something. I imagine some stills will be coming out shortly, and maybe a poster before the teaser hit.

Remember guys...this is a reboot. Not a sequel. 'We' got our movie already. This is for the current generation who didn't grow up with the original cartoon, or were really around for the first round of movies. Maybe some of them have seen the Nick Cartoon (which I love), maybe some followed the 4K Series (I didn't), but this isn't 'our' version of TMNT. Stop hoping it will be an updated version of the first movie.

I don't think this is anyone's version of the Turtles. The NICK cartoon looks nothing like this abomination. This is Bay & Company doing what they did to the Transformers. Trying to update things and make them "cool and edgy". Why else give the turtles tattoos, jewelry, clothes, etc? I don't think anyone wants a retread of the original movie, but can they at least pretend to have seen the shows or read a comic? Is it too much to ask that they act like they care long enough to get us in the seats?

:exactly: :goodpost:

My hope is most kids who would see this have already seen the Nick show and will much like us, question what in the **** Bay is thinking.

Bay made millions upon millions upon millions of dollars with his garbage Transformers movies. If I were a studio, I would let him do whatever he wanted to at this point, no matter how little sense it may make to those with any taste or interest in source material.

That's exactly it. The new show is making Nick a ton of cash already. It's doing its own thing, ratings are great, the toy line is #1....why water it down and make a movie version of the same thing?

This will be a 2nd viable Turtle Franchise. NEW toys. NEW Lego Sets, NEW tie ins, NEW merchandise. That's what they're after. That's what they want and that's what they'll get. My son already has all the figures he wants from the cartoon, and you'll be damn sure he'll be asking me for the movie versions too once they start hitting. It's win-win for them regardless of how closely they follow what's come before it.

I'm not saying I wouldn't have loved the designs to be closer to what we've come to have known as the Turtles, but I also can't knock them for trying something different. Especially without seeing one second of footage or a REAL legit look at an official image.

That's what sucks most about this. The LCD has created a beast that cannot be stopped. I just hope he never gets to touch Batman at this point. And that Dan Akroyd owns the right to Ghostbusters, so I will never have to see Bay's "vision" for that property with Megan Fox as Egon!

Sad but true.

That said - as mentioned, this is Bay's take - not necessarily what newer fans have been begging for, so.. :huh
