ok no one wants a bidding war...let's all back off and let chubbyman take the win.

I think that is the same one from battlegear for $9...

The thing is...Daniel doesn't even hold a shotgun for the majority of the film..he's a business man! An oil man.

That's a fairly specific look for him, which is one of the reasons I never got the Rainman figure to begin with. Sure, very interesting looking for a figure, but not particularly representative of the character IMO. But the charcoal colored suit, that's where it's at.

Yeah while I love this figure, I agree bad choice in outfit, I wasn't around when this was being worked on but not sure how this was picked and no one tried to persuade Lee to go with a different outfit? Who's idea was this, Lee's?

Seems like more folks wanted the look he ultimately went with.

I think it was the right folks wanted the suit moreso than more folks wanted it. I'm sure that all who were following at the time would remember that I frigin CAMPAIGNED for the charcoal suit, and despite how many others also wanted it we couldn't make sway.

Yeah I always wondered why the Quail Plainview was chosen. I would have definitely thought the Suit he wears the majority of the movie would have been first pick, or even the ending Older Plainview.

There's plenty of commentary in the original Rainman "There Will Be Blood" project thread. Funny thing is some of us that suggested it and were really vocal about it and very much in favor of the suit caught alot of flack from the "other side" for it :lol. Some of the newer collectors should go back starting on page 1 and see who was in favor of Quail and who thought the "charcoal" suit would have been a better representation of the character :wink1: Rainman does seem to be the person that ultimately chooses what he wants but he also has a "cheering section" that's more interested in seeking favor than questioning some of the odd choices and clear inaccuracies in some of his work.

The mentality wasn't completely off track because the thinking was that this was the more interesting outfit and the charcoal outfit was drab and boring. I can't totally disagree because this probably will stand out more on display, but the charcoal suit is much more iconic IMO. Also, the jacket was one of the very few things that Yunsil couldn't reproduce accurately. We got an "as close as possible" on that one.

As masterful as Robbie's backpack and satchel are (the backpack being one of the best accessories I've ever seen offered around here), I never liked the idea of quail hunter look for Planview; I'm more into the business man vibe. I went for this fig because he wears this outfit in the next few following scenes after the quail scene. He gets back into business mode and puts the tie, watch chain and pens back on. I got a black tie for this look (even though it was a patterned tie with an old fashioned knot) and I had these pens made (the watch chain was just to show the idea; I have to put a hole in the vest to have him wear it correctly and I've been hesitant):
