i got about a paragraph in (i don't like to read analyses of films - i love seeing these things for myself).... but i guess what you're trying to say is the movie has depth?

in which case i'd wholly agree. it's the main reason i think it's a great and rare film. and it didn't feel forced to me, like a lot of the more recent coen brothers stuff that gets lauded over.

I feel like I've been served :lol

My attention span only goes so far.

I will try to watch the movie, but already I am getting the sense I will not have the mental capacity to enjoy the movie like you have.

Good for you though. IMO GONY is his best performance to date, but I'll get back to you after I've seen TWBB. With GONY I have a scene that is forever engraved in my mind. The scene where Amsterdam wakes up and Bill is sitting on that chair wrapped in the American flag :rock. That entire scene still runs chills down my spine.

These are great films.

There Will Be Blood
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
No Country For Old Men
Memento

No Country for Old Men probably has the baddest villain I've seen in any movie ever. His disregard for human life is just disturbing.
I'd say it was a great movie just not one I can watch over and over again, but I guess GONY is the same way.

Didn't see it yet so can't comment. I've tried to a couple of times over the last couple weeks but I pass out immediately. Not cause it's boring but I've been starting it way too late at night. Gonna definitely watch it by the weekend. I'll read Woffard's post after though. I want to watch it the first time uninfluenced.

agreed.
love them all.
but No Country For Old Men the most.

Not to get off course but No Country For Old Men is a perfect film. It's pacing, tone, consistency, everything.

The whole movie drives so well with story and picture that there isn't any background music to keep it moving.

a perfect film indeed. :exactly:
yeah i love the fact that there is no background music.
it makes the movie feel that much realer.
its my 5th favorite film of all time.

Theres is background music. Just not every second, like there is in most movies/video games. It should have really stuck out, mostly the Legeti rip off at the beginning.

Also. I would compare the movie more to a Kurbrick film. Clockwork orange or Full metal jacket. The cinematography, editing/pacing of the film and the view this film portrays- a dark pessimistic view of life.

I love it, because that's what lifes all about.
I wish I were Plainview.
