Does he wear boots in the modern comics? What the heck does he need boots for? His feet are rock! Anyway, aside from the boots not looking good I actually like this. Had I the money I would probably get it, but then had I the money I prolly would have gotten the first one. I just hope I don't pass on this and then the entire fantastic four get made in PF form.

why woud they cover the feet? it is beautifully sculpted.

The figure depicts The Thing as he appears in Mike Wieringo's 27-issue run on Fantastic Four.

He did wear them for this run. If they make the whole FF in PF form which is really unlikely IMHO, the original offering will still be the one to have.

Had they redone the HS to match something like he did it'd been a better seller IMHO.

The Beast can't sell for not wearing pants, and people wont buy the Thing for not having his rocks out. It's just something Freaky I guess.

I don't know... I love low ES's, and 250 is a great number, but... for THAT THING??? Sorry, glad that the exclusivity has not gotten to me fully, and that the most important part still counts: THE DESIGN!!!
In order to buy something, I need to like it, even if it's rare. And I clearly don't like this.

What get's to me, is that this is yet another "International exclusive". Hey, Sideshow, I am an international customer, why didn't I know about this "International" exclusive? Or about all your other "International exclusives"?? There's been the 12" Metaluna Mutant, the life size Scarface bust, the 12" Zombie babysitter, now this Thing... Am I missing anything? Why aren't we (and I mean ALL the Sideshow customers) informed about the so called International exclusives???? At first I didn't mind that much, 'cause it was only two or three items, but only this month, two international exclusives where "revealed" somehow. So if the frequency of these exclusives is going to go up, I think we should know about them before the leftovers are thrown at our feet!

I'd love to have the Beast Maquette if he had on pants. He wore clothes in the movie, and I always remember him wearing clothes in the comics that I've read. So him without pants just doesn't seem the same.

You forgot the Spidey 1:1 bust with shiny eyes.

They are obviously offering around half the edition size (or more) so this statement is not necessarily true assuming their Low Quantity Alert indicator still works.

" The Modern version of the Thing Premium Format Figure was sold as an international exclusive, but a small quantity has been reserved for SideshowCollectibles.com customers. The worldwide edition is limited to only 250 pcs!"

The Beast maquette was conceptual. The actual film version looked nothing like that. That was a major issue because one the film wasn't that great so there wasn't a lot of following generally and those who liked the film were looking for actual Kelsey Grammer Beast.

So the Exclusive (head change) has the same ES as the regular (both = 750, while the pants are the remaining 250 taken from the regular)?

I think the 250 with pants are entirely different altogether. It was an international exclusive. At least that is how I understand it, I could be mistaken though.

They should have gone with the full "tank-top/pants/white boots" outfit to make it much different than the previous version released. Not that I would buy it but I think it would have been a bigger difference.
