Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I accept your point, we still need the final in hand article but I was telling you guys to settle down a while back and I got mad roasted for it. I wasn't saying folks were wrong to be annoyed and such but naw, folks wanted to just dump abuse on M8. Folks who have zero clue about figure production and amount of work involved.

We know, we're in the hobby. We weren't the ones spouting off how we were going to change the 1/6 game with unrealistic production deadlines.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Blitzway is an established company. I believe they communicate with people when there's a delay. When M8 is new and there is radio silence that's a problem. Also they still won't answer people on when this will ship. Since you're so in-tune with them maybe you can tell us.

Do they?? I have GB on preorder and I haven't heard a thing. It's clear that you just want to hate and you haven't got clue really.
And again with the big dumb notions? How am I in tune with them? I haven't spoken to Vijay since the podcast and the tiny bit of work I did. I probably won't be doing the boxes or anything more. I have no idea and neither do you. I do work in the business so have a small clue about what it takes.

When and if the figure is out and it looks good, will you and the other haters reconsider your con artists and crook comments? god no!! :D

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Still ignoring people who's asking about whether it's delivering the final product this month.......still deserve benefit of doubt?
How much would you bet that M8 could release the figure this month?
To be honest, the truth is they haven't even started mass production, those pictures they just shown are the prototype of final figure they expect the factory to refer to.....that's their first prototype. And things will get interesting during production as it'll just get even more complicated.
Producing 30 figures vs 5000 figures are total different methodology

We already said we'd love to be wrong.

Damn them for that eh? I mean who do they think they are by hyping their own product right?? Shame on them.

Of course but they are not crooks and con artists like folks here were saying and are just like many others who get into the game only to find that it's crazy work and somewhat unpredictable like getting the super thin plastic on the glasses just right so they don't warp after cooling etc. small unpredictable things like this can and do slow down production.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Let's not forget that M8 still claim that this figure is shipping THIS MONTH...I don't feel any different about M8 than I did yesterday...they are still deliberately mis-leading collectors and will not deliver on anything that they promised unless you stop reading their promises after you get to the word "figure."

Being amateur is fine but ignoring their customers just plain stupid especially they made their statement public.....look at the photos, its 3rd of October 2017 today in the state right? it was supposed to be out 27th of September 2017. If they can't even get the photos out as promised, how do they expect the customers to trust them again, which they claimed to release the product this month?!
As mentioned, the mass product process hasn't even started, yet they just keep lying

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I would argue thats Theres a big difference between promoting your product and creating false expectations. But in a way, thats in the eye of the beholder.

imo much of the wounds are self inflicted- 1. Setting a hard deadline on reveal; 2. Not managing their failure to meet that deadline; 3. Deleting negative posts; 4. Scratching the paypal option.

Those are all decisions within their power. And in an age of computer fraud, this is just a bad way to run a business. You invite all kinds of conjecture.

Actually, blitzway/bluefin have sent out at least two official notices when delays have occurred. So there's thaaat . . .

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Addendum: #5: stories of customers fighting to get a refund.

I have not seen that nor have have I seen an actual release date. Not that I don't believe you but is there a release date? I am actually really keen to know the release date as I do have them on order.

I don't think any 1/6 company has ever provided a release "date" but the Ghostbusters thread is full of communication (not always the best but something) that distributors have received with updates to the release window...not really fair to compare anything that Blitzway is doing to how M8 has done business though and if the difference between the companies needs to be explained then it would just be a waste of time...

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Other than custom figures, most mass products manufacturers including knock off shoes prototype before even open for pre order......hence please do not compare M8 to any other mass produce companies

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Fine, I'm not going to argue about the very obvious, like missed dates and low communication. I've already said many times that getting annoyed at all that is totally understandable.

My point here on this entire thread was that calling them crooks and con artists was not cool.

Exactly...lets find some perspective here...they are showing, for the first time today, the prototype for a figure that they promised would be shipped in May???? Remember when the delay was simply to "allow distributors to catch up."

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

The hair, while nicely sculpted is really off model compared to images of Lennon from the Imagine era. Fairly unforgivable given the reputation of the sculptor, but no one else seems to have a problem with it. With regards to the shrinkage issue I have been told by industry professionals that the process to mold and cast vinyl type castings can cause shrinkage of up to 8 to 10% of the original size of the prototype. It isn't the same process or result as casting polyester or urethane based resins.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

No, dude, I just didn't come on this thread as I got utterly roasted for trying to give M8 the benefit of the doubt and that producing this stuff is super hard but ya'll weren't having any of that jazz were you? I was getting paid to say this stuff, I'm only saying it because I worked with them and had them on the podcast blah, blah. Whatever you guys needed to justify the hate, you did it. I'm hardly going to stick around for that now am I?

Of course humility is going to be totally absent here. I wouldn't expect anything less.

Producing this stuff is super hard? You mean stuff like an actual prototype they said they had completed months ago? Passing off current WIP as WIP from early development?

The problem is they lied about the progress. They never had a completed prototype. The figure was never even ready for production.

I'm interested in the other licenses they have so I hope this figure releases with decent quality. Based on the latest pics, it doesn't look much better than what they revealed at the convention.
