Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I do think siting a personal Facebook feed here to prove a point (though it didn't) is a personal attack. My personal Facebook is irrelevant but whatever.

Oh wow so there is actually one woman here. Bravo. Totally proved wrong there wasn't I!! [emoji106]

I have no vested interest in M8 or a dog in this race. I won't be doing work for them if that's what folks are thinking. Vijay seemed like a nice dude on the podcast. That's all. I've always reacted badly to stupidity or over reactions, go see other threads I am talking in.

As both a collector and designer of figures I think fans are a bit crap to be honest. Entitled, whiney little boys many of them/us. There just a lot of unceccessary mean spirited comments and folks seem to actively go out of their way to be really negative. Just in general. Personally I feel the entire 1:6 collector community needs a serious ***** slap. But that's just me and I doubt I am alone there.

I still don't think M8 deliberately set out to fool or lie to folks. But they are doing things that allow folks to think the worst and that that's leaving them very open to redicule.
I'm not going to argue any more at this stage as they have allowed room for the negativity.

It's just too much work to just get a basic message across here so I'll no longer try.

Can't remember the last time I read such a sanctimonious, self-important, verbose screed on the internet - which is really saying something. Hey, remember when the community was mean, bitter and vitriolic about the BD Robocop/Murphy 2-pack from Hot Toys? Oh right, that didn't happen - because Hot Toys delivered exactly what they promised in a timely fashion - in fact people praised it as one of the best figures ever produced, almost universally. Remember when everyone started cancelling their Blitzway Ghostbusters and Hot Toys Hulkbuster preorders and slating those companies for the delays? Oh right, again, things that didn't happen because both companies have good reputations for delivering on their promises and were open and transparent about the delays and reasons for them. Speaking of Blitzway, I seem to remember their first major release - Carlito - also received massive acclaim from this community of "entitled whiney [sic] little boys... [in need of] a serious *****-slap".

People only tend to get angry - and rightly so - when a company making what amounts to overpriced dollies lies to or misleads them, and fails to deliver on their promises. What a surprise - when these toys start costing upwards of $350 apiece, who can blame them? Why should this industry be held to a different, lesser standard than any other commercial venture? Because you want to pretend it's "art"? Because you want more guests for your podcast? Because you're desperate to produce more packaging design for zero pay?

If you dislike this community so much, no-one is forcing you to be a part of it.

I've never read a post that I wanted to be rude about more, and not just a little rude, not even very rude, but ocean-going, copper-bottomed, jaw-dropping, full-on vitriolic, abuse about your post. My God, even this post, which is about not posting, I've just deleted stuff from it that would get me banned in a heartbeat.

The sanctimony, the... the... no, MUST... CONTROL...MYSELF...

:exactly:

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Don't know how could one compare M8 to others......most companies delayed due to production issues........M8 hasn't even done into production

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Keep buying Iron Mans people

Well in fairness I would much prefer a John Lennon figure over an Iron Man figure...probably is the Iron Man figure exists and the John Lennon one does not so there's that...

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Cool, so I can go onto his or even your personal Facebook page and site some example from that might prove your point? Oh wait I cannot because I don't know who you are either as its' a fake name.
Lets me explain what this is some weak BS, not that I really want to.
The Booty is referring to just random She-Ra art I do for myself for fun. I start a sketch, tell folks I hope to get this one finished. It's Not professional paid work. I don't draw for The Boot, funnily enough. More often than I like, I drop the odd personal private piece in favour of paid commission work. Isn't that just scandalous?? I do not think I am awesome at all. Quite the opposite.

Eamon. I like your work. No joke. I'm a fan. How else would I be able to cite such a specific example?

But for the record, you completely misread where I was coming from. I was (perhaps misguidedly) hoping that, by drawing an analogy you could personally relate to, you might see my point a little clearer. I meant no disrespect and it sure as hell wasn't an "attack". Like, at all.

I didn’t read what you said as a personal attack on Eamon. You were simply comparing something comparable in his realm of overpromising and underdelivering. I got it.

Yup.

Hell, if you read that post again, I was more or less agreeing with Eamon!

More or less.

...."The Booty"...:rotfl

To whoever says "this community of entitled whiney little mean spirited boys is crap" and his/her supporters:

You condemn the community because some percentage (less than 50%) of it has attitude toward faceless production.
I think it's time for you to turn off your dream machines, take off them rose-tinted glasses and get some reality check.
YOU need a break from this hobby AND probably from the internet.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Reason for HT and Enterbay’s success is because they are owned by HK/Chinese owners and they can inspect and QC the products as they live there. Look at Sideshow and the factory that they hire to make their products. I bet there’s plenty of missed communications when your office is in the US and your factory is in China.

Actually the problem is that Sideshow doesn't care. Chinese production can deliver at almost any quality a company demands these days. Only a few high-precision products are by true necessity made in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, or Western nations.

One of their own prototype artists flat out assessed Sideshow as having a 'good enough' company culture. They manage to combine that comfort with mediocrity with an arrogant sense of 'artistic vision.'

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

What do you expect about a community (sideshowcollectors) who only watch Iron Man in the cinema?

Trolling right...since you could not possibly know what anyone on this thread views in the cinema...?

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

He unsuccessfully tried trolling with iron man just yesterday. Still no takers.

I’m in slack jawed amazement you would post something like this.

Don’t think I’ll be tuning in to your little podcast any longer.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Wait... people actually do podcasts about figures?

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

i would never buy anything Eamon worked on or is attached too.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I listened to that preorder 66 one a while back before it became nothing but laugh at each others jokes.

Aka every podcast ever.
It's the same as when people talk to each other at Burger King, but lifeless because a) you're not part of it; b) it's set to please "da fanz".
