Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

They're still the most entertaining company of the year, and long may it last.

Wonder how long this post will stay on their Facebook page?

Jason Buretta Didn’t you say this was ready to go like six months ago and were just waiting for approval? Quit pissing on our heads and telling us it’s raining. You have only made one empty promise after another.

:lol That's me. I had a little interest in this figure in the beginning, but then none at all. I had more interest in the other licenses they said they had. By screwing this up from the get go, really puts the other licenses in jeopardy. Was really looking forward to the BTILC Jack Burton and what they were thinking for the Ghostbusters line. Willy Wonka was also intriguing.

BTW it hasn't been deleted yet.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Suppose we best wait and see what January brings....I'd like to hope they deliver something that is quality if they deliver!

Collectors have been wanting a Wonka for a long time and given that is the next piece they could have a 2nd chance to win collectors back!

Maybe learn from their mistakes 1st time round! I honestly want them to succeed but I guess we'll all find out in January if this is just another empty promise! :dunno

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

January will bring nothing

In fairness...January may bring another post from M8 claiming that the Lennon Estate asked them to make some changes to "make John even better" so the figure will be shipping on February 16th.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I say again, where's the guitar gone?
Gone from the website, not listed on the figure content.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I like coming here for a quick laugh when I'm sad about my Leia dress delay. It cheers me right up.

So this figure that was ready to ship back in -- what, May? -- is still not "finished"?

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I'm curious if this has only just got approval then that means they haven't long started production...If indeed they have even started?

The way they worded it makes it sound like they're ready to ship. Seems that would have been a huge gamble though manufacturing everything without the assurance they could release it. Do all companies do it this way?

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

You guys do not give Molecule 8 enough credit because you are Hot Toys fan boys and just want them to fail! Remember this thing is shipping in January. Let's give them a chance. Obviously Molecule 8 are so passionate about figures and determined to change the way that things are done that waited patiently for the approval that they just got...hired the brightest researchers from MIT to build them a time machine...and are going to travel back in time to March so that they can produce these figures to meet their January 2018 release date. You guys need to stop being so negative.

No company does it this way, and for sure M8 isn't. They don't know what the hell they're doing.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I mean they could probably do the clothing and then wait for approval then use the last few months to paint heads and assemble but again huge gamble!
I'll be waiting till January if nothing then I'll get my deposit refunded. Atm I don't really have much to lose but feel really bad for those who paid up front in full. :slap

If they can deliver something decent I'd be impressed but given how sloppy this whole figure has been handled I'm not gonna bank on it, guess we'll soon find out. :lecture

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

For a laugh I just went back to the first pages of the thread and it's amazing how universal the praise for this company was. Even the most cynical and critical voices (including mine) were filled with nothing but optimism, good will, and excitement for this company. Completely forgot that they were once teasing an Audrey Hepburn figure that I guess disappeared after her estate found out. The praise, however, was huge for the company. Goes to show that collectors did not want to tear them down they tore themselves down.

Some no-mark company appears to have developed an unlicensed Hepburn slated for Q1 2018 in less time than M8 has taken with their Lennon debacle.
