It's a scam in the way it was marketed.
It scammed people out of their money with claims of a finished, imminently released figure using renders indicating a certain quality of components.
It has subsequently come to light there was no figure ready, they were no where into the development processes and hadn't secured likeness rights.
They then went on to reveal they were unable to replicate the accessories to the quality level indicated by the renders and unable to recast the sculpt to the original sculpts quality (including removing the neck).
There is little defence for this though in sure there will be plenty of people still set on defending this.

Excellent post! Very well put...and I was an early defender during the initial months. Lied to once and it may be a mistake. Lied to twice, and you still don’t want to believe it. This company has been ridiculous though. No integrity whatsoever..has nothing to do with being new to the process or the industry. It has everything to do with valuing your customers...

I obviously take this with a grain of salt lol. But if this in fact has shipped in asian countries I feel like we would have seen blogger photos and pics by now.

Nanjin posted yesterday on Facebook that he knows their factory and is certain that the figures are real and will come. He describes some of the pitfalls he encountered as a first-timer in bringing the Trek figures out for QMx. One of them is that whenever something doesn't come out right and has to be addressed, the producer loses their place in line as the factory moves on to the next project in the queue while the problem is being addressed. This happens all the time.

I asked M8 whether they were having problems with temperature control causing cracks in the heads, as we've seen that happen to Big Chief and one other company (can't remember which) lately. They said they use a different factory and that they have not had that problem.

Sorry, but at this point the excuses they are making (and are being made for them) have gone beyond acceptable by any standard. Yea, there's all sorts of issues with getting a product to market, but for them to claim 250 figures shipped is no longer 'marketing' or 'managing the 'communication', but out right lying. Somebody better come up with some photos pretty damn fast or I'm calling BS.

That's such BS...so they want us to believe that most of the "first 250" went to Asian markets? I don't recall many, if any, people from said countries even talking about the figure.

The figure is selling for 1530rmb here, available with 3 costumes.


As a rule of thumb, on line stores don’t request full payments unless they have stock , and s few are not asking deposits.
It’s not a confirmation that it is available, but it is an indication that it might be.

Nanjin is giving us better information than the reps for M8!
I'd suggest that M8 hire him to do their PR, but I wouldn't want a good person like Nanjin sullied by having an association with them.
