Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Trying to parse out what Vijay was saying, the skeleton was designed to be produced at various scales, so perhaps at 1/4 scale, posable fingers is more viable, whereas at 1/6, it's not.

So, the skeleton will be produced with standard ball joints at 1/6, and at 1/4, will have posable hands.
And yet it hasn't been presented to us that way.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Hmm another shill

Why be rude, buddy? Why is someone with positivity and optimism a shill? You bring this hobby down, man. I do this to escape the BS that is daily life and enjoy it when people are lively and excited about new things. I'm sure many fellow enthusiasts and collectors would agree with me. It's unfortunate when such pettiness is displayed on these forums.

Where was your positivity in the Star Ace thread?

Yup, these look dreadful.

Where was your positivity in the Star Ace thread?

I stated an opinion of a produced figure. This individual is making a personal comment about a person. More accurately, he's insulting him. There's a difference. I'm hopeful that you'd agree and see this. Commenting on a mass produced "toy" isn't even in the same ballpark as insulting someone. Hope that clears it up for you, my friend. Oh, and I'm certain there are those that like these particular figures from Star Ace... Great! I'm happy for them. I'm certain I like many figures that others don't.

What brings the hobby down is people deciding that other people's opinions are "bringing the hobby down." Yes...I realize that this comment means that I am doing it too but I'm ok with that.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Being rude and discourteous to others brings the hobby down. An opinion, courteously stated, is fine. Why wouldn't it be? He called the guy a shill... An opinion, sure. But to call someone something negative is obviously rude. Meh... No worries from me, buddy. I know when to let certain things go. I've stated it before... I'm here to enjoy myself and I intend to do just that! So, cheers to you and enjoy the forum, my friend :)

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I agree that there is a key distinction between critiquing a product, or even an opinion, and insulting someone needlessly. Let's watch our language in this regard, please. An attempt at civility would be nice.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I hope they do Taxi Driver in 1/6. I can't do any other scale. Don't know why... 1/4 is too damn big, 1/12 is too damn small. 1/6 is just right ;)

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Sorry I am allergic to shill fish, my optimistic attitude isn't cool enough for all the emo, angst, snowflakes that litter this forum like turkey vultures.

Your attitude is fine, just don't know when your being serious or not.My shill comment was supposed to be taken as a joke but its been removed so I guess not.
If you did po fairplay to you
This is why I gave up with ssfs years back.
Misunderstandings trolling etc
Ain't got the time.
Just interested to see where this companies heading.
Not an emo either and don't think you are anymore a shill than me.
But anyone who makes a comment is, if you think about it.
Even in that interview vijay said there is no such thing as bad publicity.
I do think the way they started out looked very shady and got my back up thinking it was a scam.
Tbh its refreshing to hear this guy compared to the cloak and dagger of Howard chan.If they carry on like this it can only be good.
See positivity:)
Not emo definitely not emo

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Vijay said he was used to this kind of rough and tumble from his experience in the gaming world.

He knows we'll hold Molecule8's feet to the fire until the silicone melts and reveals the Endoskeleton.

Sounds like he can take a joke and consider criticism (no matter how rudely it was expressed!), all while remaining passionate about the products and the licenses.

The proof will be in the product, and in each and every product that follows.

Just hoping that the licenses I like will become sixth scale figures, and not limited to quarter scale.

They've had plenty of feedback thats for sure, more so than anyone would dare on a custom run or to hot toys not that they would get a response or be listined to.
This guy and his team obviously are reading the comments and have even set up their own forum.
That is pretty smart and learning from others mistakes.
I'm only interested in 1/6 and don't want a 1/4 wonka though am interested to see what they do offer in that scale.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

The podcast was excellent and I must admit greatly changed my perspective on this company and what they are working to accomplish.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

If they're molded hands then what's with the articulated fingers on the skeleton?

From speaking to him, this is the impression I was left with. First, the endo they are selling is the complete skeleton. That doesn't mean all that stuff is part of every figure. As someone else said, he specifically mentioned that in large scales, you'll see more of the skeleton used than in 1/6th. In 1/6th, the feet will generally be boots/shoes/etc. The hands will work as they do with other companies, and will be sculpted poses. The neck...well, he was cagey there, as something unique is going on. Looks like we'll have to wait and see on that one.

I take this away from the conversations I've had from him - he's not some fly by night scam artist. He's not going to disappear next month with all the money. He's very passionate about this, and has done a ton of work over the last couple years. Whether they can deliver on this extremely short time frame for Lennon is very up in the air, but he seems quite confident. I have no idea whether they can deliver yet - this is the first product from a brand new company, and it's never easy. But I will say that if they put Willy Wonka up for pre-order tomorrow, I'd order him. I wouldn't be worried about losing my money, although I'd have no expectations on when I'd finally see product. But is that all that much different from pre-ordering a ThreeZero GoT figure?

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I'm very very very tempted to order Lennon to go along side my music collection not a huge Lennon fan but It would totally fit the collection and I enjoy collecting music icons! :)

Also because I'd like to see how the final product turns out in hand.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I'd love to see a great 1/6 music line. Obviously we don't need to revisit Michael Jackson at this point, but putting Lennon next to him starts the display. Then add Elvis (black leather outfit), Prince, David Bowie, Freddy Mercury, Jimi Hendrix, maybe a Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin...

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Bowie, Bowie, Bowie!!!! His likeness from Labyrinth has already been used by NECA, and now McFarlane...there is hope there...

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

A major difference now is that expectations for ThreeZero are pretty modest in the quality department, and they have delivered several releases of course. And the price point is, in some ways, reflective of quality. At $300, folks are going to be expecting something really nice. But then, some folks paid almost $300 for an SSC 1/6 Luke figure, so maybe not.

Lennon will be huge for Molecule8, for setting the precedent of how quickly they can put product out, and how good the product will be. I'm rooting for them. Taxi Driver would be fantastic.
