MONDO - THE THING

Hey everyone. I finally got my MacRready and am looking to do a body swap. I tried going with a Easy & Simple body but the skin tone was too dark. MacReady is quite pale. Does anyone have an recommendations? I know the WorldBox body was brought up. How does the color match the hands? Does anyone have any cheaper alternatives?

DAM Toys has bodies that are closer in skin tone, almost exact.

Thanks for the heads up. The seller I got the Easy & Simple body from said the same thing. I appreciate your advice.

Now I just need to find a hoodie with a smallish hood. And that's blue. Who knew it would be the hardest thing to source.

The only light blue hoodie I found was listed as an oversized one on eBay. The color is right, I just cut the sleeves to avoid "I can't put my arms down!"

I've been avoiding the oversized one because I want to remove the hair from the frosted sculpt like others here have and have the hood up. I'm worried the hood will be too big and not cinch around his head right.

I bought a small one for girls although it has a zipper i will try to mod it. Hope it fits. i did not buy the ovesized one.

I think the 3.5 bodies is what they're called.

Every DAM figure comes with a differently shaded body (matching the head sculpt). I have a few of these and the color does vary even if the body type is exactly the same. Just as a note.

I will try to make it fit even if I have to cut the sleeves.

Should arrive by the end of the month with my figure. Will keep you guys informed

Solely based on some pictures here - since I don't have the Mondo figure in hand - I'd say that the "DAM 78079" or the "DAM 78097" bodies could be a good match for the standard Mondo head. The snow effect head sculpt seems to have a more redish tint. Hope that helps.

I got mine about three days before Christmas. Overall I'm pleased with the basic figure, but the flame is way too damn heavy and I feel they under painted the hair on the regular McCready head. I'll be adding highlights like others have. And since I missed the timed edition, I found someone who makes custom spider heads, so I'll be going that route to complete the scene.

I'll be adding highlights like others have. And since I missed the timed edition, I found someone who makes custom spider heads, so I'll be going that route to complete the scene.

The flame on mine has started to warp at the base due to how heavy it is, it was a big oversight making it in the material they did.

Removed the hoodie arms to fit.

Still have to remove the zippers, sew back the hoodie again and use the zippers for the Mondo jumpsuit.

So you're going to remove the zipper from the hoodie and sew it back together to give it a pull-over hoodie look? Do you plan to remove the hair and do the hood up look? That's what I'm aiming for. I'm curious how the hood will fit.

I'm excited to see how it progresses. Great work so far.

Yes I will remove the hair from the head with boiling water (I read it here) and put the hoodie over his head + the sunglasses in the head (gotta paint lenses in black).

Also will change the fur material I used previously in the jacket for a new one. (closer to the one Mondo used and the movie)
