Haha! I'll be honest I've probably eaten worse meat than roadkill over the years, but the options sounded fairly tasty.

As to the price - yeah I totally understand, I've gone for the old tactic of one order, immediate cancellation of subscription.

There were other companies that on the face of it seemed cheaper, but they either only sent out one brand's stuff, or a couple of bags at a truly extortionate rate. (And bearing in mind that this box for me worked out as 7 bags for 40usd) I'm viewing this one as a taste test of some expensive brands that I'd just never normally get to try with a mind to attempting to find a new favorite that isn't the usual rubbish/extortionate deli/really actually just biltong stuff over on this side of the pond.

I like Disney stuff a lot, but I don't think I'll ever really get the pin thing.

What's in the box?

Batgirl patch, Harley Quinn pin, comic version Hawkgirl pop, mini Wonder Woman figure with invisible jet, Batgirl #35 comic, heroine T Shirt of Supergirl, Batgirl and WW. There was a villains shirt with Ivy, Catwoman and Harley you could also get. Next box is Batman villains.

The GF can have the shirt :lol

The long overdue Lootaku box finally came in today - it was worth the wait! Whilst the box was expensive I think the contents more than justified the price and I can see myself picking up a box from them again in the future when the figure POs are less pressing and the theme catches my attention. The theme was Anime Crossover (Well Shonen Jump really)

Two fairly large (as anime figures/statues go) statues from DBZ and One Piece, there was quite a selection, I ended up with Super Saiyan Trunks and Luffy in a special outfit, a smaller mini DBZ figure (again a large selection), a Naruto Funko Pop, a letter-opener sized replica of one of Roronoa Zoro's swords, an Akatsuki Hidden-leaf forehead protector, sadly not one of the expensive Japanese types, but the easier to obtain thin bendy metal ones, and a Strawhat's Pirate Flag, as well as a comic that was specifically written for the box.

Apologies for the double post - even though they are weeks apart.

My sumo-jerky order showed up this morning. And well to this Brit it was well worth the price but I am aware of how much easier decent quality jerky is to find in the US! (I point out that there are far more options amount/pricing wise per month than the 6bags for $39 advertised on the main page)

(Terrible blurry phone photo sorry!)

I received 7 bags of beef jerky from 4 different producers all of whom seem to pride themselves on the quality of their base ingredients - things like "no nitrates" and "Grass fed beef" litter the packaging. I received a nice mix of flavours, from the standard "Classic" to spicy options like sweet habanero, and chi-potle all the way to the slightly odd mango-habanero. The 3 companies in my box were: Righteous Felons in West Chester PA who seem to retail at $10.00-$6.50 a bag depending if you buy in bulk, Lawless Jerky in Santa Monica CA who retail at $5.99 a bag, and People's Choice based in LA, CA (who also provided the strange "Tasting Kitchen bag at the top) who retail at $6.00 a bag.

The immediate thing I noticed actually was how much bigger the bags are than the standard size in the UK. Over here you can expect to pay £2 to £4 for a tiny 25g bag of Jerky, and it's usually the super chewy can taste the artificial flavourings stuff that petrol-stations have. Biltong can be even more expensive and well you get the idea. (I might post a quick and dirty size comparison to show you guys how pathetic portion amounts are in the UK!)

The bags I received were all at least 75g each, and all had different flavours. I've not tried all of them however I did try three bags (and even now I'm aware that having three bags of jerky open at once is slightly excessive!)

The Lawless Jerky Mango Habanero flavour was surprisingly pleasant - rather sweeter than I'm used to, but the primary flavour throughout was the beef, and there was a pleasant kick at the end.

I tried the Righteous Felons Che-potle Guevara flavour next. Despite my misgivings about the placing of sugar on the ingredients-list this was far closer to the salty/sweet jerky that I'm used to with a pleasant smokey flavour and mild heat.

Finally out of morbid curiosity I tried the Sweet Chilli Habanero from the "Tasting Kitchen" People's Choice bag - the huge amount of chilli seeds visible in the clear packaging was intimidating. Whilst it was hot it wasn't that bad actually, but the major disappointment was how very sweet this jerky was. The beef was still definitely there however I think it was sweeter than the odd but pleasant mango option from Lawless Jerky.

Thus far I like the Righteous Felon Chipotle bag the most for it's saltier style than the other two - but all three opened bags are probably going to vanish quickly! And I may find another flavour I like more.

I think I'll definitely be re-subbing to this company again - though probably with a smaller subscription given just how much jerky turned up!

Overall as an international customer I thought it was well worth the opportunity to taste some jerky-variants that I don't think I'd be able to find over here, but I fully admit I have no idea what the pricing of these apparently small companies would actually be like in store as opposed to online in the US but going by the online pricing I felt I received what I paid for!

DOH. Even though I didn't renew for year 2 I still better get my gift.

Dear valued Boss subscriber,

Thank you for an amazing first year in the Smuggler's Bounty! We can’t wait to send you the first year anniversary gift, but we’ve experienced a small setback. While we tried to make the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs, unfortunately the Kanjiklub gang seized the ship carrying the Boss anniversary gifts and our gunners were unable to hold them off.

In all seriousness, we’ve experienced an unexpected and unfortunate production delay, and we’re extremely sorry. We’re working overtime to get you the Boss gifts as soon as possible, and we anticipate shipping them out in March of next year. In the meantime, as a token of our appreciation, we’re sending you an additional free gift to thank you for your patience.

In addition to your Boss gift, each Boss subscriber will receive one of two Pop! figures from our general Star Wars line. Though these Pop! figures are not exclusive to Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty, we will be vaulting the figures in the very near future. In that way, as a Boss, you’ll be among the last to be able to add these figures to your Funko collection! Once they’re vaulted, they will no longer be available to the general public.

You’ll see a free order for this additional gift in your account this week, and your Pop! will ship shortly after. As with any variant item, the Pop!s will ship at random, so it’s a mystery as to which one you’ll receive! We’ll email you when tracking is available, and you’ll also be able to see tracking in the order as soon as the order status changes to “Completed”. You’ll also hear from us again in March when your Boss gift is ready and on its way to you.

We hope you’ve enjoyed your first year in our program, and we hope to see you continue your Boss membership for a second year!

Sincerely,
The Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty Team
