Perhaps just a touch.....
No doubt this one hasn't turned out as good as some had hoped/envisioned, but at least two of the sticking points [giraffe neck and slackness of flail chain] have been addressed and the statue looks much better than in the original pic's. I realize the main stumbling block is the pose, but I for one really like it. Would I have preferred the classic outstretched arms pose....of course, but perhaps SS felt a footprint that large was not the best idea. I don't have the slightest doubt we will see that pose when SS does a ML maquette so for those not happy with this one the choice is obvious.
I'm not going to make any claims as to how quickly or slowly the reg edition ML is going to sell out, but I think we both know a slow sellout of a reg. edition of any SS PF is not necessarily a reflection of the perceived quality of that piece. The ever increasing options available to collectors, plus a nosediving economy definitely have to be factored in. Let's face it, whatever the reasons the vast majority of reg. editions whether they be Marvel, SW, or LOTR just don't sell out very quickly these days. The reg. edition Moria Orc took forever to sell out, and Legolas didn't exactly set the world on fire either.....and the reg. GTG still isn't sold out 7+ months after pre-ordering began. Depending on the final ES, I actually think the reg. edition could end up doing quite well, esp. with the excl. being so lame.

The thing about the piece that I liked in person was you got a chance to see the flow of the whole thing. It works IMO at least seeing it in person along with the detail thats put into the robes. It looked like a carbon copy of the material used in the film.

Except for the embroidered edges on the robe, which the LSB has sculpted correctly. I wonder why SS did without them, esp after they took the effort with GTW and Galadriel?

I suppose with PF's being a mixed medium there is always going to be a balancing act between getting both parts (main materials :clothing / poly) just right.
The costuming on GTG and Galadriel is so finely detailed it compensates for the poor sculpted parts which some people didn't like (I thought the nail details on Galadriels hands were poorly done, chunky). The sculpting on the ML might be the + on this piece, but that's just based on photo's as I haven't seen it in person.
I'm still waiting to see how this line pans out but I still think this will be an impressive piece once displayed with the others or on his own

I won't lie and say I'm not gonna get this. at least I'll let it ship so I can see the final piece in person. if I have to pay to ship it back and then get a refund So be it... I do hope there's some extra tweaking that will happen before release..
