Surprise! Mine arrived today!!!!
Yeeeeee-haaaaaaaaaH!

Got a busy day, no time for pics but here's my first impression...

Toy Square rocks, well packed and shipped in heavy protective box, the HT box was wrapped in tissue paper, very considerate, nice...

The box art is beautiful. Okay, the good part, when I removed the figure from the box the first thing I noticed was how great the suit/outfit looks! Well tailored to the figure, not bulky at all and it is a silvery grey almost silky like material, looks amazing, vest is great too as is the rest of it down to the belt shoes and socks!

The trenchcoat is extremely well made, has a terrific color to it and is packed in a sealed bag in an additional protective plastic case which sits behind the figure case.

The figure itself looks tons better than the pics I've seen, really good paint apps this time and the glasses are very cool. It comes with a second set of hands too and another Superman head which is also very well painted.

I see no problems with his appearance and will keep him just as he is as I'll pose him wearing glasses in the iconic tear-away shirt pose. I can't figure out how to open the white dress shirt, it has plastic clamps inside and I didn't want to break anything so I'll just wait to hear what you guys say. Overall I am even HAPPIER than I thought I'd be... just wait till you guys see him in hand! :D

They open like the metal snaps, the plastic peg is just longer so you kinda have to slide it out instead of just pulling them apart.

Congrats Pjam! It would be cool if you could pose the HT Supes beside this figure for a comparison when you take your pics! thanks!

Thanks T.O.M., wasn't quite sure what to do there... :lol
I was kinda baffled at first too. I assume they went with those clear plastic pegs for aesthetic reasons.

btw, did yours smell like unholy b.o. too when you opened it up? :monkey4
That damn thing stunk up my whole curio cabinet.

I tried the trenchcoat on him again to see if I could get a better fit, and with a bit of futzing (I hate that word) it looks very nice, not nearly as bulky looking as my first attempt.

The material and tailoring of the clothing is realy, really nice. I don't feel quite so bad shelling out twice the price of a Sideshow figure when the quality is this good.

Congrats Pjam!! (Damn UPS -- mine's still 3 days away.) Thanks for the review. Coming from you it means a lot.

And congrats to Batty for hitting the big 4K!

I'll take some pics soon but it won't be a fair comparison because I had Les do a repaint of my HT Supes and I gave him a heel lift...

And gdb, thanks for the kind words bro. I think/hope you'll really love it as much as I do. I was MORE than surpised how happy I was with him, thought for sure he needed a repaint from some of the pics shown but pictures don't do this guy justice...

I guess some figures just don't translate well when taken with flash pics, this is one of them...

Congrats! Mine will be here on Wednesday! Tell me, compared to the original Superman head, which is better? That one or the "new" Supes head? Would you make the switch if your's wasn't repainted? Thanks.

I like the original supes head better although it wasn't painted out well, I won't switch my original supes Les repaint head. Many will like the new sculpt better and it's painted much better. To each his own I guess... best of both worlds to have both of these figures.

I don't think you can swap them anyway. The connection hole on the bottom of the Supes head that comes with Clark seems to be a lot bigger than the one on Superman. I'm not completely sure since I didn't have the balls to take the head off of my Superman completely, but that's how it looks. Shame too, the one that comes with Clark is painted so much better. I would've loved to swap it out for that drag queen head Superman came with.

I think you can use the neck joint comes with Hot Toys new Generation Life body. That joint should be able to fit HT's new Supe head sculpt.

Yeah you have use a neck from a generation life body. Thats what I did, the neck post that fits into the head isnt the same on HT Superman and HT Clark.

I personally think the new head looks alot more like Brandon Routh but the paint isnt that great this time either. If you look on the back of the box where is shows the accesories the head shown (provided its the same one and not a diffrent versoon of the sculpt.) is dead on to Routh but the way they painted it was I guess to heavy where the other was too simple.

Which generation life body? asian or caucasian? And which part of the neck post? There's a few options. Pictures would be appreciated, I'm getting both my Superman and Clark Kent next week and would like to give Superman the extra head from Clark Kent.

I should mention I have not seen CK with his glasses removed because I will most likey pose him wearing them but he looks great with them on. The hair sculpt is also highly detailed, much more than I expected and painted with a gloss finish so you do get some sheen... but didn't Clark slick his hair back anyways? That's why I think HT went with the gloss, works for me! :D
