Wow, that is one expensive piece of cardboard! :google :horror :google :wacky :peace

The Boba helm definately has my interest, cost determinate I may get one. :banana

Some Boba info posted on RS by one of the MR guys:

"The final version will be ESB, weathered accurately, with Mq-1 Calc behind the keyslots. The dimensions are accurate to the ESB Hero that MR studied at the Archives. This was not the broken/repaired "flared" hero that the "mystery helmet" is descended from, so don't expect that. It does have some of the "wonkiness" that a Fett helmet needs to have to look like it's supposed to. The colors were matched at the Archives as well. MR knows the Polyscale and Floquil info too, etc etc.

The Toy Fair helmet is a mock up to give the general idea of the final product - not the final paint master. I hope this quells some of the fears, guys. The final paint deco will NAIL the ESB hero that was studied."

,...my god,...what an amazing replica,..! :horror :horror :horror
,..makes the code 3 one looks like a hasbro toy,..!

The BEST thing that MR showed at ToyFair was definitely this:

I'm going to TRY and get one. I'm guessing it should be around what the original Balrog goes for on the secondary market today- $2,000-$2,500. And it even LIGHTS UP. If LOTR fans pay that much for the Balrog as their "grail", I might consider this as my ultimate piece.

It will be more if they get Harrison Ford to sign some like they're trying to do.

Obviously part of what he's holding is cardboard on foamboard, but the other side looks like it might be real. Anyone seen any other pics that confirm if part of the piece was actually there?

Dave, I've been following the development of this piece for a while, so I know a little bit about it.

It's coming late '06/early '07. More than likely early '07. It's 32" long and about 24" in diameter. The big new revelation from the pictures is that it lights up! Price will probably be $2,000-$2,500, but it may be more. It also will not come with an acrylic case, so you would probably want to get one to protect something this nice. MR hasn't decided if they're going to make them available separately yet.

MR is also trying to get Harrison Ford to sign some, which would put the SE versions at $3,000 if not more.

I copied the following quotation from Barry on the RPF. He used to work for MR, and I'm not sure if he still does:

The MR Millennium Falcon is a one to one Studio Scale model, taken from the 32" ESB version.

It was scanned directly from the actual miniature to ensure accuracy of shape and dimension and MR hired two highly talented and respected Falcon enthusiasts to track down the kit parts used to detail the miniature and consult on the project. The photographs in the MR booth are pictures of the master model from which the production pieces will be pulled.

This thing is jaw-droppingly AWESOME!

Get saving Falcon nuts, it'll be worth every penny.

Barry

I believe that both of the Falcon "enthusiasts" listed above post on the RPF, so they give a bunch of updates there.

The Falcon is considered by most people to be the one sort of ultimate "must have" Star Wars item. MR has been planning this huge Falcon project to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Star Wars next year.

I'm absolutely ecstatic about it at this point. Usually these types of things were reserved for specialists who built their own props. I can't wait to see it. I'm sure that a more complete version will be in full effect at SDCC. There were no actual parts of it at ToyFair, only the pictures of the model and the cardboard cutout.

Man....MR has got to get a Flex Pay program going again like SS has!!
They just HAVE TO!!!!!!! :banghead

Flexpay would make a big difference for me in this piece. Although 3 years rather than 3 months would be preferred.

Deff nice but I am way to cheap spring for that. I dont mind spending $3K but I better get 5-10 things for it. I will stick with my $150 Code 3 Falcon......

Jesse

The new Fett pictures look awesome. I'd really love to get this, but I gotta save my ducats for that Studio Scale Falcon.

Wow, now THAT is how you make an accurate helmet. I anxiously await the results of an actual production piece. This was painted for MR by one of the guys on the RPF.

The ESB Hero was on tour at the time the helmet was scanned by MR, so this is based on Preproduction Helmet 3 (PP3) seen in Star Wars Chronicles. This pic is seriously the best Boba Fett helmet replica I've ever seen. I can't imagine the cost on this. $1,500?

After seeing this, I'm scared at how the eventual Boba Fett PF helmet will be painted. The amount of detailing in the helmet is unreal. After the simple Vader PF helmet was butchered so badly, I don't have a great deal of confidence.

I definitely want that helmet! I am debating whether or not to pay the money to join their customer club just so I can have a shot at ordering that thing.

What are the odds that this will be offered through normal retail outlets? I know Borders won't carry it like they do some of the sabers, but I used to see some of the Helmets offered through Diamond's Previews. This would be the route for me if they could sell it, otherwise, it would be too rich for my blood!

This helmet looks amazing, and I think it would make a nice addition to a prop collection (with LOTR swords and stuff!)

My understanding is that MR has changed the way they handle their releases. There will be some items or editions that will be sold exclusively by MR, and some items or regular editions that will be sold through retailers. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that the Fett helmet was one of the items exclusive to MR, and it must be purchased directly.

Nertz, I would hate having to shell out that amount of money! As cool as it is, I think I could live without unless I could find a discount.

As Tom said, all MR limited editions are now exclusive to the MR site. It keeps the cost up, but they will retain their value.

I'll have to see how car payments are going before pulling the trigger on this one! This looks amazing, and would be great as a SW prop, but maybe I could treat myself to a christmas/b-day gift!

Thanks for the info, I have never bought from MR before, just got a Luke saber from the comic shop a long time ago!
