Man thats pretty sad... I watched that show all the time on Nickelodeon :monkey2 :monkey2
But he did live to 89 so I guess he had a good run.

I always loved him, but thought the kids were pretty lame. I still remember a bunch of stuff I learned from that show :rock

I'm surprised that with a little baking soda and a candle he couldn't escape death. RIP.

...That's cold. BUT, only MacGyver could do that. He would build a carbon freeze capsule with that. But I loved Mr. Wizard, I can remember watching his old 80s show in the 90s in my junior high classes. Good stuff, while the kids were lame, he was awesome and taught me a lot of cool stuff, some of which I still use today. Here's to you, Mr. Wizard. :duff :duff :duff :duff

Sorry, wasn't meant to be mean. Anyway, loved watching that crazy Canadian.

No worries, I'm just messing with you. WAS he Canadian? Well, that explains a lot....

Ummm... No. Doesn't anyone ever read linked articles? He was born in Minnesota, and was living in Southern California when he passed away.

And, for the benefit of all you "80's kids" who might not know, Mr. Wizard was introducing kids to the wonders of science long before there even was a network known as Nickelodeon. His first science TV show was on NBC from 1951-1965.

Nope. Canada is part of Minnesota... er actually I think part of North Dakota. The Godfather said in chat last week that the US annexed Canada... and it's now being called North North Dakota.

Anywho... my current boss used to work for Mr. Wizard like 20 years ago (she was his off-air assistant who helped him create experiments. How cool is that?) She's been to his home in Bell Canyon, CA many times. She said he was a very, very nice man with a lovely wife. Just a wonderful person to be around and work with.

R.I.P Mr Wizard.
