Super Freak
Recently I decided to downsize my collecting habits. In cleaning out my closets I found my last remaining CGC books. One was the thread titled Ms. Marvel sketch cover. I had this slabbed several years ago.
I posted and sold it on ebay. Packed it carefully. Buyers gets back to me that he wants a refund because the book is not authentic, the spine is cracked and the title is not straight and the CGC header is bent. I checked on CGC and it verifies that this is indeed graded a 9.8, which i knew since I had it done. They currently only have 145 of them graded at 9.8.
I essentially just sent a return label, because I realize you cannot argue with people about their perceptions. But it kinda upset me because I feel I'm being called a liar and disingenuous. Mind you in the past 60 days I've had 15 sales on eBay with great feedback, I packed and shipped 19 DC Universe classics figures in one box and got rave reviews for my packing skills. I just kinda wanted to vent here I guess, since I'll probably end up destroying the book as it's coming back with bad mojo and I've had enough this year to last me for a while. Anyone else have this happen? I mean a CGC grade is a CGC grade right?
