So looking forward to this...

I'd say the Muppet magic came back in a big way with the last movie, personally. It was definitely on hiatus for a while, though. :)

This might be the first movie I take my daughter to (she'll be two and a half by March). Kermit is actually one of her favourite characters!!! We've already watched the original movie countless times on Netflix...

If watching a Muppet sing Moves Like Jagger seems dated now, imagine what it will be like when the movie comes out next year. Even less fresh.

Whaaaaa? :dunno
That doesn't make any sense dude.. The Muppets have always done numbers with both current and older songs... not sure what's your point...

:monkey1 :exactly:

Yup. And it's also out of context in the trailer. I'm sure it will be part of a montage or an audition scene. Would also make a good spot for an actual Mick Jagger cameo...

Plus side - SCOOTER.

I don't know. To me, that pop garbage today is not so dissimilar to disco--the '70s equivalent of a crummy, superficial musical trend with a short shelf-life. This would be like the Muppet Movie having a Donna Summer disco song and dance routine in the film, and not only that, but extensively highlighting that scene in the trailer. I think the biggest offense to me though is that it doesn't look remotely funny. . .

Putting that aside, sure, the Muppet Show had musical guests doing various popular songs at the time, but in general they had more substance and thus, wouldn't seem as dated or cringe-worthy later on as this "Moves Like Jagger" garbage IMO. Most notable exception might be Alice Cooper.

What about "Me Lost me Cookie at the Disco"?

Yeah, I know, Sesame Street - but they're still Muppets. :)

You know, to be honest, I've never heard the Jagger song ever :lol
But back in the day they sang songs from pretty much all sorts of genres so... still don't know what bugs you.... :dunno

Bah, that's like saying something from Fraggle Rock should apply to the Muppet films.

Are Fraggles Muppets? I'm not sure... Cookie Monster and company are though. :)

But anyway, sounds like you just don't like the song! You never know... it might turn out to be a classic! ;)

SUPER excited to take my son to this. He was too young when The Muppets hit theatres. He'll be 3 and a half once this one hits.

Also, very glad to see Rizzo!!!

Anyone know who's Muppeteering Constantine? I can't really place the voice.
