I was raised on Bach, Mozart and Wagner (though my parents). My older brothers all listened to KISS, The Police, Kansas, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Black Flag, The Clash, Depeche Mode, and pretty much all your 80's punk phenoms. My brothers were all in bands of various types of music. They were heavily involved in the local punk scene (which if you have seen the movie SLC Punk, you would know what I am talking about).
That being said I have very wide tastes.
At the moment I am listening to Sean Lennon's new album Friendly Fire. (check out the video for Dead Meat by
clicking here.
I would also highly reccomend
this hidden treasure you can't buy anywhere (unless you'd rather spend your PF money on an out of print CDor record). Don't judge it till you hear it.
I am also rediscovering my love for Nirvana (especially Bleach and In Utero. albums I have not listened to for awhile).
I also like Gillian Welch, Elliott Smith, Billie Holiday, Etta James, The Ronnettes, The The, Syd Barrett, Toy Dolls, The Damned, Mud Honey, The Descendents, Ane Brun, Cat Power, Cecilia Bartoli, Brian Wilson, etc...
But my top faves are:
1. The Beatles and The Beach Boys
2. Tom Waits
3. Flaming Lips
4. Radiohead
5. Pink Floyd
There it is.
