Boba Fett
El Cazador de Hombres
Muse is definetely up there with me. I saw them perform here in Atlanta a few months ago and they were amazing!!
I'm a big soundtrack fan too... I have over 300 in my collection. Lately I've been listening to Jerry Goldsmith's score to Alien.occulum said:The Aviator soundtrack gets alot of play too. Love soundtracks
.... and I LOVE the new Tom Waits

I will tell you this (while Raindogs Dogs and Alice are my two favorites) Orphans really expands on everything I like about TW in all of his various phases and also contains the most humorous stuff I have ever heard from him. A great album and definately worth the wait!Batty said:....As far as Tom Waits new one- I'm not allowed to buy it. I was told that Christmas is coming! I can't wait (no pun intended!). I've been listening to his older CDs to get ready.

This is really why I wanted to have this thread. Hopefully you'll hear about a band or singer, and give them a listen.carbo-fation said:I feel so out of loop! I hardly know any of the bands/singers mentioned here!
pixletwin said:My brothers were all in bands of various types of music. They were heavily involved in the local punk scene (which if you have seen the movie SLC Punk, you would know what I am talking about).
I love the scene where the car is floating. It's bouyant. I need to watch that movie again. I haven't seen it since it was in theatres.DarkArtist81 said:Dude!! I love that movie... and no one I know has ever seen it... Great flick.. everyone with a set of eyes and a love of Punk should watch it.

Since summer I have seen
NIN twice
Panic at the Disco (and agian next week)
She Wants Revenge
Killers
My Chemical Romance
AFI
Beck
also seeing NOFX in Jan.
And this has been a slow period.
Me too! The only concert I went to this summer was the Flaming Lips and Sonic Youth.Mr. Twos said:Wow! Awesome. Reminds me of the halcyon days of my youth. Now I'm too old for concerts. Hard to crowd surf with a walker. And the music's too darn loud.
Great bands, BTW.
Did you know its a true story (for the most part)? The guy who drove Steve-O et al to Wyoming was my buddy's older brother in real life.DarkArtist81 said:Dude!! I love that movie... and no one I know has ever seen it... Great flick.. everyone with a set of eyes and a love of Punk should watch it.
I don't pay high prices for concerts for the most part, most of those were in the $20-30 range, the only expensive one was NIN that was like $50. The best part is most are in small places too. Yeah some are really bad. I know my roommate bought Stones tickets for her Dads Bday and it was like $400 for two lower section tickets.Batty said:Me too! But back in the day I saw The Stones, The Who, U2, Pink Floyd, The Police, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bowie, GNR, Neil Young, The Cure, Paul McCartney, Van Halen (with Diamond Dave), The Ramones, Oasis, Dylan and on and on.
My main problem with concerts today is ticket prices. There are very few people now that I'd be willing to pay outrageous prices to see. In 1981 I think Stones tickets were only $17! Man, I sound old!
Yeah, I don't mind paying under $75 for tickets... It's just a shame most big name acts charge way more than that for good seats. That's why I'm glad I was able to see so many of them in the 80's and early 90's. I think when I saw the Stones on the Steel Wheels tour in 1989 tickets were $35. And those were for 16th row floor seats.mfoga said:I don't pay high prices for concerts for the most part, most of those were in the $20-30 range, the only expensive one was NIN that was like $50. But that might be the Stones last tour . Seems like people think that every year then what do you know they do another. Is almost as bad as Kiss, who keeps saying its there last only to do another.Batty said:Yeah, I don't mind paying under $75 for tickets... I don't think anyone should be allowed to have a "Farewell Tour"!mfoga said:But that might be the Stones last tour . Seems like people think that every year then what do you know they do another. Is almost as bad as Kiss, who keeps saying its there last only to do another.
