Seriously, thanks you everyone for the warm messages and the suggestions. I really appretiate it. I am looking in a therapist right now but money is kinda holding me back.

But I have gone out of my way to try to start making changes in my life. I even made it a point to walk by a person smoking everyday. I figure I gotta face my fears. I havent thrown any clothes away. But it's it bugging me like crazy. I hope to god I can someday get over something like this because it is parylyzing when you go out in public. It just gets in the way of EVERYTHING.

Oh , and another thing. Out of the all other forums I posted this same message on, you guys were the only ones who didnt have negative comment to say to me. And that makes me proud to be a member here. So thanks so much.

It's nice to know that this forum was sincere and helpful. :)

It sounds like you are taking some positive steps and facing your fear/anxiety. That's always the biggest step. I hope it all works out for you.

Well here is something people might think i am ____ed for but, i used to date a girl that smoked a lot and even in her place.I think i just stayed with her because she was fun to have sex with so, anyway..every time i would leave her place and just before i got home, i would clean my car seat and the passenger(where she was) because i would reak of smoke pretty bad, even wash my hair twice in the shower and scrub myself down with extra body wash.

Ahh, but you didn't brush your teeth ehh?? :lol

Years ago when I was broke and having problems with depression, I saw a "therapist" that was actually a psychology student. I think seeing clients at a reduced rate was part of her schooling. It only cost me $20 a visit. You could try and find something like that.

Might not be the ideal, but it would help I'm sure.

You know samhain, you could always start smoking. You'd never even notice the smell. Might even start to like it...

My mum smokes a lot and my brother is even worse. And then I had to go and get a g/f who smokes, talk about a glutton for punishment. The funny part of it is I worry more about the state of my collectibles from it all than I do my own health. The smell disgusts me, it gets everywhere on your skin and clothes and its not my f___ing bad habit. But its certainly not a phobia of mine.

My phobias would include talking on phones to strangers and doing anything different in my life, changing my routine. The latter is going to be a major problem for me very soon I expect.

But really though, man don't worry about smoke. You do laundry and once that is done the smoke smell/chemicals should be gone, not to mention all the pollutants that are on your clothes just from the air we breathe on a daily basis, that stuff is on your skin too so, don't worry about it. Shower before bed and its all good.
